I being a BE graduate, was always very fascinated by management studies. Even during my final year of graduation I never thought of MBA, but when I was out for job hunt I found the power of management person than software professional.
I then realized how the things could be done on your favor when you?re on the management side(could be marketing, sales, finance or even HR) while the technical people have to be at back of management people esp(finance, HR) for even get their known person into the company .Though am a software engineer by profession I am telling all these because these are facts that all would have experienced.
Why I feel to be on management side
On any organization, the number of technical persons would be thrice the size of the management people. Lets say the technical no is 1000 then at the maximum, management side will have only 100.When u proceed in the road of success of life why don?t you be the one among the 100 and be the first in it instead of being one among the 1000 and climbing the success.
Of course all this matters and implies based only on individuals interest. Some are interested in coding and some on interacting and moving with groups and some on managing and handling people of different behavior. The second and third category of people has the main advantage of being in management side Management people has the advantage of understanding the psychology of others which is very much useful and needed in day today life. They are taught of all kinds of management, of which others know only 20% and those are basic management.
Any kind of talent and potential always needs to be exploited at proper places and environment. For that you need to choose the best of all. When u sure of getting into better management school then you are definitely capable of getting into best schools. One should never compensate the better one for best. Best always remains Best. You can always find the difference among students from ordinary ABC MBA and IIM?s. We all do accept that doing MBA in IIM or XLRI or Symbosis is highly prestigious and best for our future.
When u get an offer both at IIM and Howard all would prefer Howard rather than IIM though it is very popular and prestigious institution. There always remain the differences in them. It?s mainly because the quality of course they offer and then environment they provide and the way you are coached to understand things in more practical way.
The future is determined and fully settled when you join some big institution and it is one of the main reason why everybody prefers it and feels as secured future. I personally feel doing any management course in a well-recognized and prestigious institution makes difference in your life. Certain things can be realized only after experiencing on own than hearing about it, so join them and feel the difference.
