DEWALI THE FESTIVAL OF LIGHT
Oct 14, 2006 11:04 AM 7879 Views

The biggest festival of Hindus Dewali is very close. It is celebrated in the memory of Ram, Laxman and Sita coming back to Ayodhya after a van-vaas of 14 years. On this day people of Ayodhya welcomed them by lighting deeps.

Now this day is celebrated as Dewali and people pray Goddess Laxmi, decorate there home with light and deeps. Other than this we fire crackers. Which create Sound Pollution and Air Pollution. Due to which small children, old people, patients specially suffering from Asthama, even animals don't have any solution to this problem. Due to Dewali which has now turned almost to festival of firing crackers many people got injured while getting trapped with it, many people loose there eyes, some become deaf, animals like dog and cow don't get place to hide and protect themselves. But still this process is going on.

Even a small country like Nepal has also banned the use of fire crackers. But we cann't. Can anyone tell why? One more thing is there. Until the people themselves decide not to go for fire crackers, we cann't blame others. Every year in India we waste around 3000 crore of rupees in fire crackers. Is it right for a poor country like India to waste the money in this way?

We should enjoy the festival Dewali, by decorating our home, greeting our family members, friends, neighbors, by distributing sweets and by worshiping God. Therefore it is my request to all of you to say no to crackers.

HAPPY DEWALI TO ALL OF U
