I bought a product from ebay which was imported, and the seller clearly mentioned that it will be shipping via Gati Express courier. I was hesitated first to place the order because from Mouthshut, I came to know that Gati courier is not a great courier service company. Since the product was a necessary item, I placed my order with crossed fingers.


The order was placed on 2nd December 2015 & it was shipped on 3rd December 2015. On 6th December 2015, it reached New Delhi. On 8th December 2015, it reached Bhubaneswar, and the next day - 10th December it reached nearest HUB in Bhubaneswar.  On 11th December, I saw the tracking details that it went out for delivery. I was still in doubt. My doubt was correct. I received a call from the courier company & they said that I have a product which is going to be delivered but the guy over the phone asked me a lot of questions about the delivery address. He was very much sure that the PIN code I gave in the address was incorrect. I said & confirmed him that the PIN code was correct & there was nothing wrong in the address.


The guy was confused because the place where I live is a bit far from the main city(I live in a sub urban area) but the PIN code for my area is given as a part of the city's main area PIN code. I could understand that. The guy said that I have to come to them to receive my item. I said why? I told him that I couldn't come to their office. He told me that he can't deliver the item that day & he had to contact their office head to deliver it to me as my Address was far from their service area. I said ok.


The next day, I had some work in the city so I came to the main city, then I received a call from the guy from previous day. He said that he is in the city & would deliver the item but I have to come to the city, I said that I am in the city, give me your whereabouts, I asked him to come to a place where I can meet him. He came to the place I called him to. he delivered me the product after verifying my ID proofs as the item was prepaid. His behaviour was good and he admitted that his office doesn't give him enough money to go outside their service area to deliver the product.


I thanked him because at least he called me & told me about the issue which I don't find with Blue dart - who simply would update their tracking details as "out of service area" and would return the product to sender with out delivering the product.
