Gary Kasparov was born on 13th April 1963. In 1985 he became the World Champion after defeating Anatoly Karpov.He defended his title against Karpov in 1986, 1987,1990 and against Short in 1993 and against Anand in 1995. He rarely lost games since becoming champion and there are some years when he went undefeated.

-The USSR Junior Champion at age 13


-Grandmaster at the age of 17


-In 1985 he became the youngest World Champion by defeating Anatoly Karpov at the age of 22. He held this title for 12 consecutive years.


-He is rated number 1 in the rating list.


Kasparov is a innovative player and is always well prepared against any player in the world.He has played a number of simultaneous exhibiton matches and has scored full points.He has played and won matches against the world o the Internet and has defeated a number of computers. However he had lost to IBM'S Deep Blue 2.5-3.5 in 1997.


Gary Kasparov is definatley one of the most talented chess player in the world.
