On 16th November 2013, at Bandra Terminus, as we entered the coach G1 of Hazrat Nizamuddin-Bandra Terminus Garib Rath Express(2909/2910), we found, that there was shuffling of seats done after charting and due to shuffling, our berth numbers changed in the same coach. Initial seat numbers were of two lower and one middle berth, after shuffling we got two lower berths and one middle berth.
These tickets were booked at the time of opening of booking i.e. two months back. On 22nd November 2013, at Nizamuddin Terminus, as we entered the coach G2 of Hazrat Nizamuddin-Bandra Terminus Garib Rath Express(2909/2910), we found that our names and berth numbers are not on the chart, as we were aware of the shuffling while coming from Mumbai, we checked the next coach chart, we were surprised to see that our names were there with new seat numbers.
Due to shuffling, my berth numbers changed from G2-65, 66, 67 and 68 to G3- 11, 12, 14 and 15 i.e. in the next coach. Initial seat numbers were of two lower, one middle and one upper berth, after shuffling, we got two middle berth and two upper berth. Simple modifications in IRCTC software require, but till date no modification is done. Then Railway minister Lalu Prasad Yadav had flag off the New Delhi-Mumbai Garib Rath on 22nd Feb 2007. More than six years have passed still running on old software.
As Indians are aware as how our government works, we are damn! Sure the software may not be modified in next six years. One suggestion, better paste one copy of the chart inside the coach, so that passengers can check the new seat numbers when the train is on the move and will not entirely depend on TC.
AVOID GARIB RATH
Hats OFF to Railway ministry.
