Ganpatipule is a very beautiful place. It is known for its white sandy clean beach with crystal clear blue water and Ganpati temple. To reach here it is best to take a train. It is around 7 to 8 hours journey from Mumbai to Ratnagiri. From Ratnagiri it is 45 Kms. We took karwar express also known as holiday express from Dadar at 12:10 am and reached Ratnagiri at 7:30 am. Then we hired an autorikshaw to reach ST bus stand, the fare was 60 Rs.

There are regular bus services to Ganpatipule from here with a fare of 34 Rs. It takes 2 hours to reach there and the bus stop is bang opposite to the MTDC main gate. There are cottages, tents and independent huts available. We were looking for independent huts which are located on the beach around 15 minutes walk from the reception. We later found that only the MTDC resorts and cottages were sea facing. The tariff of the non Ac cottage/hut   was 1100 Rs and Ac 1400 Rs per day. The beach was looking beautiful with white sand and almost seemed like a private beach of MTDC as not a single soul was visible nearby thanks to the off season. The temple at the beach is so fascinating that you feel as if you have reached your ultimate destination which is the place of god. This place is perfect to relax with some  books, with family or friends or just staring at the sea while sitting or lying down on the verandah of your hut.

The restaurant here serves good food according to the tastes of the people. Don’t expect a very prompt service because the people here are pretty chilled out & don’t seem to be in any hurry. Anyway it was an awesome experience to be here for a weekend & can’t be expressed in few words.
