I write this amidst all the hush & routines of Mumbai life after my travel yesterday. I write this as a responsibility

& as a token of respect to so many others who pen down their experience for the benefit of people like me,

who are used to studing each site thouroughly on the Internet before we take upon our travel. This Review is for

them......

So friends, if you guys have zeroed on Ganpatipule as your next haunt, let me tell you, you have chosen the

BEST destination. Its best in every sense, from its scenic beauty to peaceful beaches & above all the divine

presence of Lord Ganesha.

The season I visited is peak summer & I dont think its fine its tooooo HOT, but I hear the monsoons here are

not conducive either so, MAY is fine. Planning in advance is a must, if you are a liqour freak, want a budget

hotel you would prefer MTDC resort, moreover its bang near the temple on the beaches, but I found it average

for a stay, so if its your choice go for it. Next on the list should be Abhishek, where the fish food is awesome, a

good hotel with good service, Krishnali is another good hotel but one might find it bit expensive. With not much

choice & no free rooms I booked on the Landmark Hotel. The photographs on the Hotel brochure, make the

trip all the more tempting.

Its nearly 350 Kms from Vashi, I had to blow fuil A/C on my WagonR as the temperature was at melting point &

my kids wont take the heat neither could me. The next harsh point was unavailability of AC rooms, I had

booked on a non AC rooms & was bit skepticle. The Hotel room was a big bonanza surprise, it offered it all, a

beautiful sea view, tranquail, peace & no-disurbance zone. It was love at that first site.

Landmark though has 2 major drawbacks, it has no professional Management, the reception & interactions is

manned by the cooks or some weird folks, who poor souls cannot manage a bit & drawback two is the food.

Food on the stay plays a major role in ones satisfaction & Landmarks food is terrible. The location is perfect,

but thats about it, the Service, the food needs a immediate makeover, if at all these folks care for their clients.

The attendants & the employees too seem very hapless of the managemnet.

Nevertless, I suggest book your trip at a Hotel with good service & food & location. Hey at the temple its very

nice, we can carry the Digi Cams, video cams, its fab, the crowd on non-special days is soothing, hardly 5

mins & you get the darshan hasslefree, the only spoil sport was the bewitching heat. Hey buy those prasad

laddoos beforehand, I repented as I kept it for last day buy & they were exhausted. The market nearby are

good. For nearby spots, cover the Prachin Konkan museum its very good, visit Keshavsut smarak of this

legendary poet, as for points at Ratnagiri, plan it from early morning to evening, ensure you visit the Tilak

smarak & Thebaw palace by day as it closes by 5 pm, rest of places like the Bhagwati temple & fort are not to

be missed but dont have the time restrictions, also vsist the Patit Pavan temple the people there were so warm

they opened the Savarkar exhibit just for us at late evening hours. We freaked on non-veg food at Abhisehk

Hotel, I binged on Chicken Biryani & my elder daughter & wife the experts on sea food, enjoyed the food. Let

me tell you the food here is awesome. We had a tangent in our plan though, as we could not resist ourselves

from visiting our goddess at Angnewadi, shree Bharadi Devi Mandir. It was a oneway 200 kms drive , was

pretty long but neverthless it gave us full satisfaction, we also had a glimpse of the see at Tarkarli beach 7 kms

from Malvan it s a must see when in Malvan, we rushed back to landmark at 10:45 with our car zooming at 100

kmph speed, the Landmark servers were courteus enough to keep the buffet open until that late hours, but as i

said the food was terrible !!!.

Finally the packup hrs, I have had not got enough as yet so on our way back we put Dervan on our list, my wife

had to change into a Indian attire at a Hotel on the way, as Dervan doesnt allow ladies in western outfits, luckily

this time we could see Dervan in its totality, As a shivaji bhakt, it was an eyeful for me. Before closing we could

not but visit the fish food joint at Hotel Abhisek in Chiplun, somehow my wife loves that preparations & I am

kinda forced to drive at that place without fail. It was food at 4 pm but the content on my wife's & daughter;s

face made me happy.

Thus by the stroke of 1030 pm we reached our home in Vashi, It was one beautiful trip I will cherish forever.

With 550 digicam snaps & 2 video films, I have much as a preserved memory.

Thanks friends, for reading this long, but go ahead, you have chosen the right destination, let your family have

that most deserving break, I guarantee you would Enjoy!!!!! Ganesha's Blessings are with all of us!!!!!!
