Overview: It is a small village... not developed, not many people, no shops or much of entertainment... (Who cared any ways.. I had my frnds:)) it is a very serene and close-to-nature kinda place… Actually, there is not much u can see or do there… but yet I fell in love with this place… it is indeed mystic, set amidst friendly people, really worth a visit… To Reach: From Dadar, we took the Madgaon Express… and after a journey of about 6 hrs by train and half an hour by road, we reached the “oh-so-awesome” place... we drove down from something like a small ghat, and from a distance itself we could see the sea… it was blueish green! Looked like one of the best sights I’ve ever seen (sumthing like one would get to see in movies) To Stay: Since we had not finalized accommodation, we checked thru many hotels… but settled for the MTDC resort, since we were 7 of us we hired a cottage there…if you ever go to Ganpatipule, I would recommend u to stay at MTDC…. All rooms (AC, Non AC and the Cottages) are well maintained and spacious… but be sure to do the booking from Mumbai itself coz they usually don’t entertain on counter booking… the view from our room was breath-taking… the virgin beach… the deep blue sea… the cool wind and the sweet sound of silence made the place amazingly beautiful… I haven’t be much around the world, but I’m sure nothing could compare to this… To See & Do: Ganpatipule is named after this famous Ganpati temple…it is about 400 years old and is believed that a villager once stumbled upon a Ganesh Idol here and made a temple for it. There is also the Jaigarh Fort, nestled away on a cliff…and a lighthouse nearby that offers an eagle’s eye view to the vast sea, lovely mountains and neighbouring village… and yea, the MTDC resorts also offers water sports., like scooter boats, paragliding, motor boats… it is reasonable and safe… there are many other beaches around, but I didn’t be there so I don’t have much to write about them Climate: it was very pleasant (we went in the last week of February) but it gets hotter in mid- April… I believe it will be wonderful in monsoon… Signing off: this trip left me with fond memories…due to the religious touch of this place and secpondly becoz I love beaches... I can just close my eyes at my desk now and the serenity of Ganpatipule flashes infront of me… hope all of you visit it and have something more to add in the comments section of this review…
