Gangtok, the capital city of Sikkim bordering with China, is connected with road only riding through the bank of river Teesta. You may take train upto New Jalpaiguri and air journey upto Bagdogra. Being a hilly place, it is full of various varieties of flora and fauna. I visited the place in November, 2012 with my family in a bid to visit NE States of India. We stay in a state Government Guest House at nominal charges. The city is clean and disciplined. Traffic rule violation is not tolerable in Sikkim. People are so simple and honest. It’s a state with least cheating and fraud cases.
This place is known for budhist monasteries In local we visited Rumtek monastery, Ganesh tonk and Mall road which are worth seeing. Nathula Pass, the main tourist attraction which is snow clad high pass joins India and China, the main attraction of the journey. Famous Baba Hardeo Temple falls on this route. Namchi in south of Gangtok is famous where a splendid statue of avatar of Lord Budha is situated on a hill top. A large temple complex with model of all important temples of India being constructed and being developed as spiritual pilgrimage centre. Clear glacial Tsong po lake, falls and trekking trail make the place highly refreshing.
