Good news friends…our bollywood baby is growing matured. And why shouldn’t she? Ramu uncle is putting so much efforts, Nagu bhaiya is also there to take good care, and now our old Jha sir has also bounced back. After some disastrous years, bollywood now seems to be on right track.
Lets take a look at its latest offering..Gangajal
The movie
You all might agree on the fact that there is no sure & shot formula for a hit film. A film with a great story may fall flat & other with faltu script may click. So what does it take to make a movie a worth watch? I think its the way director handles the movie.
Gangajal originates from a director known for his sensible cinema. A director who knows what he wants to show to the audience and the good thing is that he actually conveys his message. He did it in ‘Mrityudanda’, now he is back with Gangajal.
Gangajal is based upon a true story happened somewhere in Bihar, where some cops after getting frustrate with the system thew Acid into the eyes of the prisoners. Now with this single line, Mr. Prakash Jha has has created an art work and I must say, he successfully portrayed the concept.
While watching the movie, you might get a feel of ‘Shool’ or ‘Ardha-Satya’, which also carry the same flavor, but this film tastes different.
This movie is about an honest & determined cop who fights against the devil as well as against his innermost thoughts, his principles. He always prefer the lawful way. But his juniors inspired by his spirit & determination take a different root. And they actually get success in it. Now this cop being trapped between the principle & reality, gets carried away with the situation & finally reaches his aim.
The performance
Ajay Devgan has proved his mettle once again. He has added life into his character . His looks has been improved from the Company and he looks just great in this film as a police officer. This brilliant performance has surely added one more feather in his cap.
Mukesh Tiwari and friends supported extremely well. Hats off specially for Mukesh Tiwari.
Gracy Singh had hardly anything to do in this male dominated flick.
Once again our very own Lakha and Mohan Joshi came up with the best.
Packing up..
Gangajal scores in every technical department. A well controlled direction, good cinematography and sharp sound completes the experience. (I wondered how the musician of foreign origin gave such a desi music !). The film has got one item number which also reflects the shades of rural music in it. A film is violent but not as vivid as shool. Some scenes really thrills you like AD did in The Legend of Bhagatsingh
Last words
I strongly recommend this movie. This movie has really got some sense. At least for AD, this movie becomes a must watch. (and hey, don’t forget to take your brain with you…as we are not used to it. :-))
