I think it was Good. in the sense that it has concluded some story lines that needed to be given closure. Like:
1. Stannis. He has gone beyond what is tolerable as a reasonable human being. He committed fratricide. first, his brother, Renly.then his daughter, Shireen and indirectly caused his wife's suicide, all for his "rightful" claim to the Iron Throne re-enforced by his reliance on the sorcery/false prophecy of Melisandre.
2. Brienne's odyssey comes to an end at the death of Stannis in her avenging hands thus she has fulfilled her Oath and her honor.
3. Myrcella's death has hopefully ended Ellaria's thrist for revenge against the Lannisters. And Jaime and Myrcella had acknowledged their father-daughter kinship and for a moment in time they were happy for the knowing.
4. Theon Greyjoy's prolonged suffering and Sansa's repeated rapes by the same monstrous depraved sadist are apparently about to end. Hopefully, Theon will now regain his lost identity and discard Reek forever.
5. Tyrion will get to sit on a Throne in Meereen amidst a civil war, with his "small council" manned by Varys, Greyworm and Missandei. Hopefully, he can diffuse the chaos with his Wisdom.
6. Cersei has done her "Walk of Shame" and is again free to be the Queen as her champion the great Mountain is resurrected from his poisoned wounds inflicted by the Red Viper. She is now ready to wreak vengeance on the High Sparrow.etc. Let us again play the Game. the Mother is back!
On the other hand. it is Bad. because of that Great Foul Maneuvering cliff-hanger that is so Unfair especially to the book readers who have read ADWD almost 3 years before the show started. Let us hope The Winds of Winter will be out on schedule by October of this year. I was referring, of course, to Lord Snow's stabbing.
