Since last couple of years, I am being desperately waiting for Akshay Kumar's each and every movie. No need to mention that he is a true all rounder and the way he has shaped his career in last few years is really commendable!
GABBAR IS BACK!
Yeah! in true sense, GABBAR is back for all types of baddies in Indian society. As I wrote above, I am a to the core fan of AK since few movies. But let me assure you, my review is unbiased.
I wanted to see the movie on very first day since AK announce that first day's entire collection of GABBAR will be donated to Nepal! What a kind gesture by AK and entire GABBAR team. But unfortunately, I could not get the tickets of the show which suited my time. But sunday, yesterday I watched it.
No doubt, it is worth watching and for sure its not just one time watch, you can watch it again and again.Gabbar(Aditya) emerges like a larger than life person, but it creates huge positivity and provides a new point of view or perspective to us to look at the world with open eyes and think / analyze potential areas of corruption. Movies is well paced and unfolds the events in well organized manner.
Gabbar, though initially shown as a practical professor of some science in a college called National College(entirely shot in pune's Agriculture college). His way of teaching things in open areas with practicals is impressive.
He picks 10 corrupt officials by the ranking of most corrupt to less from some government departments, kidnaps them and by giving official warning to police departments and kills the topper from the picked 10 and releases remaining 9. This creates a stir in corrupt officials in many government departments and departments are picked / chosen by him randomly by sending a note(compact disc) to public and police, and then acts. Still manages to remain anonymous and keeps police clueless.
Police departments keep on hogging samosas and keep on playing hierarchical politics and result is zero. They are unable to trace anything again and again. One fine day, he announces that he will clean police department tooo and entire force is shaken up and try to find most corrupt officer within themselves. GABBAR is very sensitive towards poor and needy people and on the event of one poor person's death leaving his family in financial trouble, GABBAR spontaneously exposes a scam in a big hospital which is owned by a BRAND called Digvijay Patil. Trap of Hospital and doctors is exposed. In the sequence, son of Digvijay Patil is killed by angry mob of public and then Mr. Patil is behind GABBAR.
In initial half of movie, there are few shots which make us curios to know GABBAR's personal past but his his tragic past is shown in just 5-10 minutes and creates deep impact on us and on movie too.
Since beginning, many characters emerge in story, play their respective roles religiously and make the story more intense. Shruti Hasan, cutie face girl, carries her role fluently. Though her role is small but significant.
Story keeps on unfolding various dimensions, it keeps us engaged and looking at how badly corrupt our society is makes us furious. That's where the beauty of the way this movie is executed.
Background score is good, not harsh at all but creates nice environment. Overall taking, direction and cinematography is excellent. Mob scenes are greatly executed. The entire movie long chase between police and GABBAR is excellent and movie keeps us on out toes. Just like "Baby", "Holiday" or "Special Chhabbis".
Lets talk about AK!
AK is excellent as usual, his presence on screen a impressive and his look is matured person through out the movie. His body language, calmness during crucial scenes, action scenes, his dialogs all excellent and he emerges as TRUE & GOOD GABBAR. The way he involves the youth of India, uses social media to make most use of youth is great.
End is typically good as we all expect from a Bollywood movie. Common man is now supporting GABBAR's actions, gathers huge support for GABBAR. Many government departments are shaken and people stop taking bribes and start working seriously. But what pinches is GABBAR's exit! Seen many people in a movie hall in tears on his unusual or unexpected exit.
But that was the movie all about. It leaves us spellbound, it leaves us thinking, it gives us a confidence that a common man can do much more for the country and things can be changed.
I enjoyed, rather I would say I lived the movie. I felt as if all these events are happening around me, it is so close to reality.
Forget about, movies are not meant to be to be taken seriously or such statements, but this movie, I wish everyone should watch it and live the movie.
I highly recommend this movie to all! Waiting for another excellent movie from AK soon. I am sure Akshay Kumar will be back soon with another subject another hit.
