We visited the city of Nizams-Hyderabad during the Ganesh festival holidays. The 3-day itinerary had 1 complete day for shopping. As part of this, we visited the famous Laad Bazaar, Nalli Sarees and a short running visit to the near by Shoppers Stop, Biz Bazaar and of course GVK Mall.
Let me talk here today about GVK Mall: GVK mall is like any other malls in a metropolitan town, located at Banjara Hill. As you enter, a huge nice and clean aquarium is sure to catch your eyes. Kids, specially would love it. Then there are standard stores of all big brands, I believe close to some 50 stores inside and a Shoppers stop, adjacent to it. The famous Hard Rock Cafe is also just around.
As I had rightly assumed, the the mall is by GVK Power company.
We were told it has a six screen INOX multiplex housed in it and that you can watch movies in a recliner(kind of sleeping couch) - we did not have enough time at hand to try this out.
The top floor has a food court and houses some decent eateries - a wide range of food stalls right from sizzlers to south Indian thali and burgers to some hot chocolate and coffees. To name few: Banana Leaf, Cafe Coffee Day, Gelato, Tibbs Frankie, KFC, Sizzling Joe, Only issue is the wash room is located right at one end, so in case you need to use it, its a long walk.
The 3rd floor is the fun-zone for kids, with a 4-D theater.
Now-a-day Malls have changed the definition of shopping, shopping is just not about buying clothes or accessories, it's also about spending time, entertaining yourself, dining out, watching movies and not to forget - kids to enjoy in the games arena.
GVK have all of these, so it's a complete entertainment package and one can easily spend a day here with his family, loved ones and kids.
