Fun World - Fun For Everyone
Today, water parks have become an expensive means to enjoy quality time with family and friends. Although the cost per person is relatively high, the stress level for the parents is low and fun level for the kids is terrific!
Sometimes we need a holiday from our traveling. I think a brief visit to an amusement park might be the best bet. Last Sunday I visited Fun world with my nephews, one of the oldest & famous amusement parks in Bangalore city. Located at the heart of the city, at Palace Ground in Bangalore. Spread over an area of twelve acres, it is an ideal destination for kids & family outing.
The park is designed on the lines of Disney Land and is equipped with a wide range of rides. Rides including Atlanta Roller Coaster, Caterpillar Rides and Rounded Train Rides & Toy rides provide great fun for the visitors. Fun World ensures safety of all their rides and offers surprise galore for kids of all ages.
The biggest advantage of Fun World is it is located at the heart of the city. The other Amusement parks in the city are located 25-30km from Bangalore. Unfortunately the managing authorities of Fun World are not utilizing this great opportunity. I have been visiting this place for the last ten years, not much improvement has taken place.
The advent of modern day theme parks and amusement centers like Wonderla,Lumbani water park & Neeladri amusement park with huge financial backing has reduced the number of visitors to this theme park which has almost become a relic of the past.
Fun World is the only combination of three in one amusement park in the city.( Fun world, Water World & Star city ) it is a good place to go with everything you need for a fun day out in one place.The place can be ideal for spending weekend with friends or children.
Different kinds of rides are available here which have been categorized under two broad heads: Dry Rides and Wet Rides. Dry rides are very scary and would even take you upside down. Musical fountain, crazy car and virtual reality are most famous among all. Wet rides include lazy river. You can enjoy being in water and relax away day's tiredness.
There are around fifteen rides for children and about ten rides for adults. There are many adult rides that kids can enjoy accompanied by adults. The rides that my nephews enjoyed were a car ride, pedal boat, motorcycle ride, caterpillar ride, Columbus & Tora Tora.
Food is supplementary and has to be purchased separately. There are a lot of food stalls and food courts, but be cautious if your are sensitive to oily or spicy food.
For those of you who don’t want to just have food and relax but would like some entertainment thrown in, StarCity is the best place .
Star City is a gaming arcade where you can try your hand at video game consoles, and other casino type games mainly for kids but adults will enjoy it too. There is also a bowling alley with 12 lane, where you get 20 throws for Rs 120 on weekdays and the same for Rs 150 on weekends. The place tends to get crowded during weekends. Apart from bowling you have a Go Karting at affordable price.
Please do not compare this place with Wonder La or Neeladri amusement park . Visit fun World only when you have no other option left. The only advantage is, It is the only water park in the heart of the city. The other one wonder la is quite far away and expensive compared to the cities oldest amusement park.
The place is most visited during the weekends.Visit during the weekdays and enjoy.
Fees :
Fun World – 200 Rs week days / 250 Rs weekends for unlimted rides
Star City - 10 – 20 Rs for 1 coupon. Most games require two coupons
Bowling - 120 Rs per head for 20 balls
Go karting - 49 Rs for 3 laps
Timings :
Weekdays: 11 to 6:30
Weekends: 11 to 7:30, Open 7 days a week
Best time to go :
Around 3 pm to 6 pm.This place does not really get too crowded except on weekends. It might be best to go after lunch. Mornings might be warm and the lunch options might be limited.
