Zee mall with the name of Fun Republic Mall and Fun Cinemas Multiplex in Lucknow stands about 4.5 kms approx from Polytechnic and about 5 kms from Lucknow Cantonment in Gomti Nagar area. This mall is supposedly Lucknow's first biggest shopping mall. It has a huge range of shops and restaurants from Levi's , Reebok , Sony World , E Zone , Shopper's Stop , Titan , Spencer's , Max , Mochii to Mc Donald's , Nathu's , Cultures Cafe and inlcuding a newly opened State Bank Of India branch and many more. It offers you a wide space to move with four floors , very very good double slot parking space, huge range of shops , ranging for middle class section to exclusives and nice interiors .
But the architecture of the mall is questionable. There have been two accidents in this mall unfortunately , wherein first , the roof of the mall collapsed crashing 4 floors down below, leaving some people injured and the second time , a fire breakout took place , to which I personally was a witness. This leaves a bad image of
the people in the management business involved here. The Food Court of this mall at the top floor is nicely built , with good space to sit and a nice modern architecture. However , I am not satisfied with the quality of the food in here.
Secondly, the ticket counter for Fun Cinemas is so bad in service that its at par with the worst. The guys on the counter there dont know how to operate the systems , they dont tell you the different charges , with and without combo offers and they directly charge you the one which is profitable to them. If you are smart enough , you have to interrupt them and tell them specifically , otherwise you end up paying double the amount (literally) in a rush. Also I dont understand why are four or five lanes made when only two or one has to be opened for public all the times ? Wouldnt it be less messy if the services are improved, especially the ticket counter being inside the mall and not outside, unlike other malls in the city.
Third , but not the least , I have noticed that there is no checking of any vehicles when you park, until and unless there has been a bomb blast somewhere in the country.Do the security guys think that only thats the time of any misshapenness? Its really disappointing to see as well as it feels really unsafe too. In this regard , let me add that not only this mall but its the same case in every mall in Lucknow. No checking until any blasts. Wake up guys , prevention is better than cure , which might not be any in this case. Its not that I dont like the mall and hence I am saying bad words , I like it in fact and I visit it almost every 10 days as well , but some things really irritate you, especially when they can be corrected.
I would like to see some changes here and if not , then we still have a mall with good quality and range to shop , therewise inviting people like us and many more over and over again.
