NIGHT OUT PLACES OF AHMEDABAD

1. Law Garden

The inplace since years because it is combination of everything & for everybody. Law garden is a place where you can get best walking path,green grass lawn & benches to sit & chat.It is 100% safe too. Outside the garden you can find best ethnic market where one can get typical Gujarati stiching art. Very colourful garments with mirror work looks very pretty in a lantern light. You can get artificial jewellery to home furnishing things.

On the other side there is a food market which opens only at night. This unorganized market is very clean & neat & safe to eat. Most of them have grown from here to a big restaurant in other parts of the city. The spcialities are Panipuri,Bhelpuri,Bhajipav,Pizza(The say it is `pija?),South Indian varieties.It is surprising that in Gujarat you will not find typical Gujarati food here. The best icecreams are available here. Apart from the food people selling different different things move around the place. It is again 100% safe at any time of the night. It is open till 1am & during festival season it is open till early morning.

2. Manekchowk

The oldest hangout place.Must be more than 100 years old. Famous for Kulfi (Type of Icecream) & Kadai Milk(Hot Milk). It is smallers & less organized than Law Garden but worth a visit place after midnight.It is as live as day even after midnight. Different types of Churans are also available.

3. City Pulse

Modern day hangout for youngsters. The disco of City Pulse is very popular. On Sunday evening you can relax with live music band who plays old English numbers to very new remixes. The variety of food is also there. Atmosphere is very nice with a very good lighting effect. Only drawback is it is lively only on weekends. The multiplex theaterin the complex is now no more a crowd puller. It is nearly 20Km away from the centre of the city.

4. Fun Republic/Wide Angle

Movies,Games,Food,Shopping all at one place.It is all in the right combination. Best food,theaters are worth a visit. It is not as lively as it should have been. Shopping is also not very impressive. Ahmedabad has not picked up concept of gaming.Bowling alley remains empty anytime of the day.The parking is good. Designing wise Fun Republic is good but theaters of wide angle are better. Barista & US Pizza are main attractions at Fun Republic. Both are on the junction of S G Highway.Here you can also visit Big Bazar & pray god at ISCKON temple. All are on the same junction.

5. R World

Eventhough it was the pioneer with one stop entertainment it has not become very popular hangout place. The location of 20 Km away from the place on a very busy highway makes it less popular place. It has got a good Family Entertainment Centre & also gokarting tracks.The food of Sankalp is good.

6. Kankariya Lake

Ahmedabad has only one lake which remains full around the year. Kankariya is surrounded by a Zoo & kids & family entertainment park(Balvatika & Jaldhara). Kankariya is very beautiful immediately after monsoon when the water is fresh. Nagina wadi in the middle is the old monument well preserved. Boating is possible here. The junk food is available in plenty here. On footpath of Kankariya you can find many entertainments & artists. Fortune teller,Artist who can write name on rice,monkey show are very popular here.In the morning also it is full of people walking & exercising.

7. Natrani/Darpan

Mrinalini Sarabhai & Mallika Sarabhai?s centre for learning dance is a place for intellectuals & so called intellectuals. Sarabhais call here world renowned artists for performance in a very pictures amphitheater. Small café serves basic food in a dhaba environment.

8. Navrangpura Municipal Market

Most unorganized market but most popular too. Amdavadis have sweet tooth & so they come here for after dinner dessert. Mainly coffee & softy are very popular. The Pizzas started from this market in AhmedabadIt is very dusty & parking is a problem here.There is no place to seat out & chat but it is still an in place for Amdavadis.

9. Barista/Cafe Coffee Day

As in other part of the countries Ahmedabad has plenty of coffee shops.You can get Barista in most of the posh areas of Ahmedabad. Café Coffee day are only 2-3 in Ahmedabad. Café coffee day has more varieties for non coffee drinkers & good menu to fill the tummy. Most of the coffee shops closes by midnight. Ahmedabad has very few 24hours coffee shops.Good 24 Hour coffee shops are Silver Leaf at Cama Hotel & Piano Bar at The Grand Bhagwati.

10. ATIRA

If you are looking for a hang around place than this is the place. Very secluded place in the middle of the city.It is the place for the lovers. Best place to walk. The atmosphere is excellent & the temperature of this area is minimum 2-3 degrees below the city temperature. The sugar cane juice & teawallah are famous here but hygine is a question.

11. Bageeche Ke Baad

The latest in place of Ahmedabad.You can have varities of coffee,American Corn of different types, Flavoured Hot Milk,Few food items. Seating is on the road & non conventional style.In the Evenings collegian meet here. Kids can have fun with rides, horse cart etc.

12. Clubs

Ahmedabad has one of the best clubs of India. But it is restricted to the members only. The affiliated club members can use the facilities of the clubs.

13. Vishala/Rajvadu

Typical Gujarati village atmosphere is created here. The food is also pure Gujarati. These theme restaurants organizes cultural programmes everynight. The food is divine.Get ready to seat on the floor with folded legs. With heavy stomach it is difficult to get up after the dinner. It is very popular among foreigners.

14. Road Rash

Youngsters love this place for Go Karting. For very young kids there are small rides too. The food is OK. The theme restaurant is not very well maintained. But it is fun for zip zap zoom car drivers.

15. Science city

The Gujarat Government?s mega project is in the first phase but still it is a great place to visit. The 3D & 2D theatres are very good. Vertual reality shows are very nice. The fountain shows in the evenings are worth a visit.. The landscapeing is also very nice. Every Saturday & Sundays they organize some shows or movies in the amphitheatres too. Look out for new happenings at this venue.

16. Kanoria centre

Hang out place for the art lovers of Ahmedabad. You will find painters, authors, poets,sculptors here. The art gallery is also worth a visit. They also call artists for presentations & seminars. Next to this centre is Hussain Gufa of M F Hussain. At present it is under renovation. Soon you will find new masterpieces of Hussain here. This is in University area so it is covered with the School of Architecture, Vikram Sarabhai Science Centre,Pharmacy,Science,Arts,Commerce colleges. Opposite to Kanoria centre is Gujarat University?s main building.

17. House of Mangaldas

House of MG has a very ethnic but posh lounge café where they show movies on home theatre system. The place has got plenty of magazines to pass the time. Other parts of MG house has a Green House,which is a coffee shop & Agashiye, a Gujarati-Rajasthani eating place on a terrace. The décor is completely ethnic. The house is converted in to a heritage
