I do wonder why they call it Fun Cinemas - probably it is funny that someone decides to spend money to brave a few hours in inhospitable conditions with rude staff! Well that is what we did when we decided to go there to watch Mr X 3D on19-Apr-2015 1440 hrs show.
I did my booking on bookmyshow which as always was seamless. Getting the tickets post app booking was a breeze at the counter though I do prefer the scanning machines like the one at DT City Centre - Shalimar Bagh. But not too bad. The Mall is in shambles and lined with wine shops - probably not the best place for a family outing but we had purchased the tickets already so there was no going back.
The real fun starts when you first have to wait in the queue to get the glasses because the hall needs you to pay Rs 50 per glass out of which Rs 20 is refunded post the show. Additional charges for 3D glasses - great why don't we have it inbuilt into the tickets? Probably to hide additional costs or probably to avoid a track of additional income to avoid paying tax on it I guess!
The staff handing out the sub standard glasses was extremely rude and their rudeness increased the time in the queue. When we told them the movie has started the reply was "you should come earlier and plan for extra time in the queue!" So much so for the Fun part.
The hall itself was infested with mosquitoes who probably had more fun then any of the viewers(the quality of the movie of course was of no help either but that is a different story or lack thereof!)
Finally after braving the hall, mosquitoes and movie for a couple of hours it felt good when the credits started and it was time to bolt - wait there was another queue - to return the sub standard 3d glasses handed out to us and take the refund unless of course you wish to tip the multiplex for the extra patience and endurance test you have been subjected to.
Another 15 minutes and finally we were out - vowing never to be back there!
Bye Bye Fun Cinemas - hopefully you will not have fun on my expense next time.
