Story:

Front Porch Tales..Warm Hearted Stories of Family, Faith, Laughter& Love...is a wonderful genre for the home library. These are short stories you can enjoy on a warm afternoon, or a cold night by the fire. Simply interesting, they are great short tales to read to your family in a general setting.

The author Philip Gulley, is a Quaker who has a wonderful 'writing' voice. Anyone familiar with Paul Harvey has heard him quote Gulley during his commentary on radio. The book is paperback and has a very warm scene of 'front porch environment' on the cover, including rocking chairs. There are 43 short tales and each is around 3 to 4 pages in length. This is a book any home library is sure to highlight at reading time for the family.

Book layout:

The book is divided into 3 sections.

~I. Folks He Has Known.

{A very humorous outlook is told here.}

~II. Hearth & Home.

{His family and witty 'particulars' offered.}

~III. Observations.

{Ever set around the kitchen or frontporch and just gab? Remember the funny genuine discussions? Emotions run high and are hashed. He goes through a list of life in general. Gulley talks about 'tending tears' and 'tending his soul'.

Front Porch Tales: Philip Gulley talks in tale and story of life in general. He uses characters from real life who have taugh him lessons. Two favorite 'teachers' are his grandparents, who have told him stories from their own front porch. He has a unique style of story telling and a specific style of talking in written content. Find out why his wife bought handcuffs. Laugh and enjoy. How did he handle 'advice givers'? And what is 'hardware' heaven. Fresh funny stories in short story genre, to enrich any library, Philip Gulleys' Front Porch Tales is just good clean family reading. This book also is a great gift for people who enjoy reading but do not have the staying power for long stories.

This makes a nice gift for holidays, birthdays, and just a pleasant thank you gift for a friend. Other work by Philip Gulley are:

~For Everything a Season.

~Just shy of Harmony.

Enjoy.
