Star World is an amazing channel. Before I go into this review I would like to say that time is very precious and finding the time to watch a TV program can be really hard. But still in this stress filled World, I find time for friends; one of the best serials of all time. What is it about friends that makes everyone shut up and listen?

Here We go :

The plot : Friends is a story of 6 people i.e. 3 guys and 3 girls, their love lives, their problems, their small moments of joy and ultimately their lives. So let me introduce the characters. Here Im gonna use their screen names because most of us who watch friends refer to them by their screen names.

The actors: Lets start with Ross. Ross is well a funny sly guy whom you'd associate with most unmarried guys who're on the lookout for someone special. However his commonness is replaced by his totally twisted life. Ross Gellar is married to Carol whom we later discover is a lesbian and begins to live with her and raise Ross's child with her. Ross is a total loser at love who keeps changing partners like tooth brushes and never seems to settle down. On the funny side he is the numbskull of the pack and always seems to be misconstruing the facts. His facial expressions and acting skills are second to none. Ross also happens to be a professor at a museum of natural history, his specialty being dinosaurs, thus adding to his nerd like character. To sum it up we could say that Ross can be adorable, weird, sly and childish at the same time.

Now I come to Monica Gellar. Monica is Ross's one and only sister. She appears to be the kinda girl who is not fun loving, always bothered about cleanliness and a stickler for rules and regulations. However when challenged she can be the wackiest of the lot. A person like her is required in this serial. She is comely, sometimes funny, sometimes irritating, overall a fun person. She has a crazy past. There was a time when she looked like an elephant and that’s sometimes a sour point for her, she also had an ex boyfriend Richard whose almost double her age, and now she finally marries a man who well is one of our star cast. I leave the guessing for you to do. Nothing more to write about her.

Now lets come to Mr. Chandler Bing. Chandler is a really sweet dude. He is extremely funny and there are certain occasions when he is extremely serious and says a lot of meaningful things. His acting prowess is again second to none. He also has a pretty weird past. His father is a cross dresser and his very appellation Chandler leaves a lot left to be said. Apart from his weird childhood which he totally detests he is a normal guy with normal needs. He also happens to be the most timid in the group.

Next is Phoebe, the most weird and nutty person of the cast. Phoebe has really weird theories about life, her mother's existence and her music is very very bad yet very funny. She has a twin look alike Ursula who we keep running into some serials and she is as fickle minded as Phoebe. Phoebe adds a lot of life to the serial by her jokes, her music and her very presence. She is definitely one of the favorites for many people who watch friends.

Let me now introduce Rachel Green. Rachel is the rich girl who wants an independent life, free from the clutches of the affluent society she's been brought up in. Ross and Rachel keep having on and off affairs which never seem to be going anywhere. She is very domineering. She has a large ego and can be very moody at times. Its her subtle acrimony that makes her character so important to this jolly lot.

Last but not the least is Joey Triviani. I feel Joey is the most loved character in friends. Ninety percent of the people I meet have the same opinion. Joey is very affable and a really adorable person. He is a real happy-go-lucky dude who gets into some really embarrassing situations and then goes running behind his pals to bail him out. The stand alone feature of his performance is his body language which is extremely positive and evokes laughter from even the most sedate people.

The serial friends is actually a piece of art. The flow is superb, the story line is simple yet agreeable and invokes interest in most people and almost everyone I know has watched friends regularly for some time. In fact I still watch old reruns and never really get bored of them. They always bring a smile to my face. The serial gives equal importance to each and every character. The roles are well defined and the direction and comedy is well structured and I must say that a lot of hard work and passion must've gone into making every season of friends. Oh right, every set of serials when released are called a season. I guess Star World is still showing season 6 or 7;Im not sure. Anyways this serial is a must watch for people of all ages. It is a real stress buster with a lot of laughs and all the stars soon become a part of your extended family. The key to friends is that you can relate with every person and laugh along. A truly fantastic depiction of life and the ups and downs associated with it in the most positive fashion you can possibly imagine. Enjoy it while it lasts i.e. forever
