I registered to use Freecharge for mobile recharges after my friend invited me to use it. I was being offered a promo code with 100%(upto Rs.50) cashback upon my recharge. However, after recharging for the said amount and applying relevant coupon code, I never received any cashback as advertised. Upon checking up on this with the customer care of Freecharge website, I was assured that they would look into the matter and provide an appropriate resolution.
However, after a day, I received an update mail from Freecharge customer care stating that the offer had been withdrawn and was no more applicable! I was surprised to see that they could do something like this after having advertised clearly about this Rs.50 cashback offer repeatedly for several days through their email campaigns.
At the end, I felt like I was being cheated here but could not do anything about it and felt really helpless. Since then I have avoided using Freecharge for any of my future mobile recharges. While the service to recharge itself is good, this kind of behavior by the team has kept me away from using it again.
