So you have to pay your landline bill, electricity bill, recharge your phone etc. U used to stand in a long queue to make the landline phone or electricity payments. Then came the faciility to pay online in the concerned portals/sites. Now why we should stop just there and not create a standalone platform for this purpose and make payments of every billers in india from one site? So came PayTM, Freecharge etc. Well I must admit that these sites made my life lot more easy and I am happily using their service.
Now a days I totally depend on the internet for recharge and bill payments. Previously I used PayTM but after the advent of this portal/site, I shifted to it and till now I am a satisfied user.
From where it was started, Freecharge gradually extended their service to almost every areas of daily life where payments and recharges are involved. It now includes mobile postpaid payments, prepaid recharge, landline bill, gas, electricity, merchant, DTH service, metro etc.
Some pros:
1) The portal is easy to use. Its design is no-nonsense type. U just have to create a Profile giving some personal details and u are ready to go.
2) A nice option is u can store your Debit or Credit card details for more than one card to avoid filling up details repeatedly. I have already stored/saved details of 2 credit cards and one debit card.
3) Payment or recharge is quick depending on your network(and other concerned servers too). U will get messages from Freecharge regarding whether the transaction was successful or not(along with the sms of the concerned company/organization to whom u are making the payment).
4) In case of failed transactions, Freecharge will hold your money for a specific period and then they will revert back the amount to your debited account. This once happened to me and I got my refund. May be others have different experience, please do share in the comments.
5) The best part is.recently I am getting some reminder messages from Freecharge regarding my postpaid bill due or prepaid mobile data approaching the limit etc. This kind of reminder service is excellent. Nice job Freecharge.
6) Very recently they have also started a VIrtual Card service where they will make a virtual card for u in the cloud and u have to transfer some money in the card and make payments from there. This is a optional service as I understand. Anyway, some improvisations are always commendable so far they work without any glitches.
7) Another good thing is they keep your previous transaction histories up to certain time period(i guess) so that u can track them later.
Not so many drawbacks to talk about. A few times I faced delayed transactions. Recently I made payment for my BSNL landline through this portal for the very first time 2 days back.till now I have not received any confirmation from BSNL(though I have not checked my account in BSNL portal).hope it went well.
I can recommend this site any day. I like as well as love it. I dont know how their customer service will be, but if they can resolve transaction or security related issues in a reasonable time then this site is fine till now.
Oh I forget to mention that I like their Logo too.the'f' thing with a lightening theme.LOL.
