In my opinion one of the finest TV comedies is the NBC programme Frasier. It is both sophisticated and very funny. Essentially the programme centres around Dr Frasier Crane played by Kelsey Grammar who is a rather pompous, long winded but well meaning radio psycharactrist working on a radio station in Seattle, Washington. He has a brother Dr Niles Crane who is private practice and he too is a tad pompous and at the same time childish but loyal and very gentle.Niles is played by David Hyde Pierce.
Other major characters in the show is the Father of the Cranes who lives in Frasier's apartment. He is a former policeman and is a rather dry laconic individual but very down to earth and not the least pompous. Then there is Daphne the attractive home help, She is from Manchester in England and is played by Jane Leeves. Roz is the producer of Frasier's radio show and she is a bit on the wild side and is always chasing after men.
This award winning comedy programme is very witty and at the same time sophisticated. The acting by the principal participants is nothing short of brilliant and I feel the main players complement each other very well indeed. Frasier is directed by Andy Ackerman and Rick Baren and the writer is Gayle Adams.
Summing up I think Frasier is one of the finest comedy programmes on TV and I hardly ever miss an episode. It certainly tickles my funny bone and I would strongly recommend it as well worth watching.
