MORE FUN THAN CHARLOTTE'S WEB. Review on Fortunecity

Okay, so call me a little vain! A little vanity never hurt anyone besides I wanted my picture on my ms public page so my fellow-writers would know what I looked like. I always try to picture the face behind the words and I'm sure others do this as well. I was determined to place my mug on here so I began to find different ways to do just that. Then I found fortunecity.com. After checking out this site, I knew I just had to build a homepage! Build a what? Wait a minute. My computer is ''user-friendly'' and I am a friendly computer user. But I don't profess to understand anything about htmls, nor do I understand all the hieroglyphics associated with URLs. URLs? I thought EARL was a name! Oh well! (sigh) Then I came across fortunecity.com. Fortunecity.com? Wait! Isn't fortunecity filled with gold? Not this one, unless you consider an easy way to build a FREE webpage a ''golden'' opportunity. Anyway, The registration with fortunecity.com was free so I signed up.

My next choice was to either ''pay'' to build a site or build one for free! Since I'm a complete novice (please be kind and don't laugh too loudly), I chose the free option. (I was a bit afraid that I'd be wasting my money if I screwed it up too badly.) The only thing they require in order to give you this free site is to allow their pop-up ads to appear on your home page. My next option was to choose my ''helper''. I chose Trellix for no particular reason. Since I didn't know what I was getting myself into, I figured one was as good as the other. Boy, was I wrong! Trellix makes fortunecity.com a site like no other! It took me about a half-hour to figure out and navigate through this site but guess what! I am now a member of the web community! With the help of Trellix and being a member of fortunecity.com, my web page is great. Okay, so if were an expert, it would be better - much better! But I'm not an expert and what I've done with what I have, is pretty darn good to me! I have been able to add photos of my children and grandchildren, not to mention my poetry, stories and accompanying photos. I can ''download'' pictures from anywhere on my hard drive, floppy or CD. I've been able to change and rearrange how the site looks and reads, including addition a visitor counter and guest book with automatic email which alerts me when someone has ''signed in''. I can add music and animation if I desire and even make my site interactive. There are just many options that can be utilized when building or editing your webpage. This site is a snap! I still can't believe it was this easy. I would love to pat myself on the back, but I really can't be that vain and take the credit for this. If it weren't for Trellix and fortunecity.com, I would still be a memeber of the webless majority. Who knows, maybe someday I'll be able to figure out the ins and outs of computerisms, but for now, I like my fortunecity.com! This system has and still serves me well.
