Visited tirumala, and on the way halted at tirupati, and stayed at the Fortune Kences hotel.
In brief about the hotel, the accomodation is excellent but the staff is not well trained to handle the customers well, some of them lack basic etiquuette. Food is expensive but nice wide choice of Indian to continental, and there is a decent bar attached to the hotel.
Reception service is ok, and inspite of having no reservations, walking in and finding the availability and moving into them was faster and no problems of whatsover. I had been given 10% discount, you could bargain more depending the rush, weekend or weekday and other factors.
Accomodation was fantastic, the interiors, cleanliness of the room and other things were nice and cozy, value for the money paid. The hospitality here ranges from 3000/- to 5000/-. I had not compared to the other hotels around this place, but in general think the quality of the accomodation against the money paid is justified. The only nuisance I had found at the hotel is that its nearby to the railway track.
And although the rooms are equipped with sound proof windows, still there is good chances of you waking up in the night for the honks especially if you are used to pin-drop sleep at your house. I was certainly distracted and think this is the major con's of placing here, anyways you could always opt for the rooms facing the road.
For people visiting Tirumala, and would like to halt in tirupati for piligrame and site seeing, would definitely recommend this place. I had not used the bar facility, so could not comment it, from the outside look of it, it was nice. The restraunt was good, but some of the staff there is not well-trained to handle the customers. Hotel is located at tirupati unlike chittoor as it has been categorized.
