The experience we had in fortis might bring tears in the eyes of many. in July 2009, my father was admitted in Fortis because of the stone in his Gall Bladder and ther started our misfortune. the stone in his Gall Bladder had slipped in some intestine which was to be removed through telescope. the untrained doctor could not do that simple thing in first go and stopped it in midway. My father was taken for that surgery agin the next day. they kept us in the hospital for 6 days for this simple thing.
After 4 to 5 days of discharge, we had to admit my father again as the stone pain restarted. This time Gall Bladder was to be removed which is a very common thing these days. People go to government hospitals for such minor things and get wall soon in a week. However, we were the real unfortunate ones to go to Fortis for this.
When doctors were performing this surgery, the packet of bladder was flipped out in the stomach and the debris was spread. Doctors are so shrewd that they did not tell us about this, neither they did open surgery to remove the debris. They even kept him in ICU without giving us the reasons. We, being Lehmann, could not understand what had happened. After 6 days, they discharged my father and had taken more than 2 lakhs from us by that time.
Afetr 2 days of discharge, my father got fever, We informed teh doctor over the phone about this but he asked us not to bother in a very rude manner. Fever started increasing and reached 105 adn finally we had to go to te doctor in Fortis. My father was taken on a wheel chair due to his condition.
When doctor saw this, he got scared and asked us to get admitted there and then. We simply refused saying taht we van not afford this place. In a very harsh way, he asked us to go to other place. My father was takent o DMC, Ludhiand, the same night. It aws an emergency case and when doctors got the ultrasounds done, then we got to know the real story of what they had done to my dad in Fortis.
My father was admitted in DMC for 15 days where he was given many expensive injections everyday to remove the debris. After the discharge, my father became relly really weal. It further took so long to cure the disease.
After spending lakhs of rupess in the treatment, my father does not have a balanced walk and has got arthritis in his one of the hands.
This is the resultof going to Fortis for a simple treatment of Gall Bladder removal. This was not our bad luck, it was totally due to the inefficiency of doctors and greediness of Hospiel. I want to request everyone not to go to Fortis. Please understand that Health is Wealtha and we can't take any risk with our and our loved ones' health. Health once gone can be retained and it pains a lot to see your loved ones in a miserable condition.
