Staff,doctor's attitude weren't upto mark. Review on Fortis Hospital - Bannerghatta - Bangalore

I had a good experience of this hospital 2 yrs back, when my father was treated for his acute piles by Dr Shabbir Ahmad.

At that time I didnt find anything to complain about, and the experience was positive overall. Another good doctor was Dr Mahendra Jain, who treated my father's prostate. This time though, the reason for the experience was my brother's wife's delivery. The baby was born in Fortis hospital bannerghatta road on 3rd Oct 2014.

It was normal delivery, but they had to use vaccum suction, but then they modified the package( of normal delivery) to C-section( due to only addition of this)- to the tune of 10K+. Then, the delivery room was very dirty- was surprised to see such room for the reputed hospital it is, and the amount they charge is premium too. There was litter all around

Although the delivery was done at 12 noon, mother wasnt shifted to normal room( executive) till 8 pm. There were long delays in checkup and even after repeated reminders and followup email also, no one seem to be bothered about it. The mother was kept in the dirty delivery room till evening, and was shifted to triage room at around 5 pm. We had to do followups to get her some soup after delivery, she was feeling very weak.( we weren't allowed to give outside food to her). She was shifted to the room at around 8 pm only.

The pediatrician's attitude wasnt courteous too- she frowned when she saw that there are few ppl visiting to see the baby- and appeared very angry, and she asked nurse to tell this to all, that she didnt appreciate it. But the kind of expression she had- didnt suit to the kind of hospital and the charges they have. She even asked us to stay for 2-3 days extra- since the baby was born using vaccum( but we found it weird, and just a money making business). We changed the pediatrician- Dr hanumanth Rao, a famous pediatrician, who after inspection was sure that we are okay to go home.

The lady was both rude and greedy in her behavior, which is obviously wrong for the practice she is in the nurse's were impolite as well. one of them was very rude and when my mother wished to accompany the kid while they were taking her to bath, she asked one of the junior ones to "expel" my mother out. my mother was very upset, and she complained about her behavior- but she remained defiant

I will not recommend anyone to go to this hospital for delivery at least. THey have gone down in customer satisfaction levels, since I got experience of Motherhood indiranagar for my own kid's birth, and it was amazing to say the least.
