Here comes my story.hope it doesnt change your mind on buying a Ford though unless you arent too deterrent.
It goes like this.We bought a Ford Fusion in January 07 . There aint a major problem with
Ford Cars as such in my opinion.The problem is with the dealerships.
The car is amazing unless you plan to race or zooooom like a ferrari because it lacks any safety
features that would come originally it was launched like ABS EBD blah blah.
Cos I experienced a close brush with a nighmare once I was rushing to the
airport and had to brake too hard.To my surprise the brakes did not respond the way one would expect.
It was a lull, Brakes literally froze.
Engine is amazing though.
Talking about the dealerships.on the very 1st service in 1 months time as scheduled, dealer banged the car in the workshop.
When I noticed the damage on the bonnet, ppl were like sir ur car was dirty WEN u brot it here, and moreover its black in color
, so it went unnoticed.i insisted, but in vain.service manager some female would deny the same.
The next day my father noticed the damage on the right hand side of the body which was painted black to obscure the damage.
We had to literally fire the management per se.i wont call it a management though.shameless creatures.i tried reaching ford india limited
but in vain, couldnt locate the contact details.
After a major major followup the GM service was kind enough to accept the fact it was their fault and somehow things were taken care of by the dealership.However the bonnet alignment is still not perfect.bingo, thats wat they did to my new car.
I had to personally visit them so many times.
When I took it for the 3rd service the work wasnt done n I they wouldnt agree that I had got the teflon coating done for 5000 bucks cos it was not in their
records.I had to meet the senior service staff(same lady who denied the fact earlier I mentioned).She couldnt find it
initially cos that was recorded with the car's temp refgistration.somehow she found it, and said woul recoat it as per the recoat schedule.
Wen the car was brot home by the driver the coat wasnt done.Amazing ppl.
infact the ppl initally were like sir u must have paid for the teflon coating in the showroom n not the service center so please chek wih them(jus because I wasnt carrying the teflon coat serial card they furnish).
The showroom is a 60 sec walking distance from the service center.Imagine how dirty ppl can be.
The worst part is that when my dad went to take the delivery of the brand new vehicle from the showroom, they had not installed the leather seat covers for which we had already paid.
They made him sit there and wait for 3 long hours.
Moreover when we went for a pre buy survey research on the vehicle, marketing staff was highly unprofessional.
I told the guy if this is ur presales I wonder what would your post sales be like.
To my dismay that guy said, "wo to hai sir"(thats the way it is sir) and that too sarcastically.Now this guy had some nerve.
It took them 6-8 months to send the registration.(Point to be noted).
Ladies & Gentlemen, the dealership is SOUTH CITY FORD(Mohan Coop Ind'l Estate, Delhi).one close to Haldirams, mathura rd.
Otherwise the car is doing FANTASTIC inspite of abuse and atrocities by the dealership(GHOST ship rather).
It looks lovely, runs amazing.fuel eco is good too.more than 10 I believe.I love to ride it.
No problem so far touchwood.
The built is solid, smooth, ride is sturdy.engine responsive.
Gearbox is decent too, not too fussy.overalldrive is smooth and end of the day Value for money unless ur car breaks down.
Its roomy, goodness gracious. so much space.
I researched a lot on the car bfre we bot it.The deal was 6.20 lacs(on road DELHI with leather upholstry n mp3 system).Its the dealerships people.no wonder Ford isnt doing well in india too.
Comes with almost all the gizmos that Maruti swift is equipped with like DTE, digital this n that etc, remote boot, approach lights, locking.
a 1.6 litre engine, u wont get a Fiesta 1.4 basic version for that price.
Perhaps now I want to buy an IKON for myself in mumbai.or may be an Endeavour(hehe;), its my fantasy because I cant afford it.)
infact new buyers may go in for a total Maintenance plan after u resarch on its benefits, i havent done it, havent taken it.
AND PLEASE DO NOT HESITATE TO DRAG THE DEALERSHIP OR THE COMPANY TO THE COURTS IN CASE OF ANY HARASSMENT.
I have my own reasons and I would love to do it if I buy another ford(incase its a pain )
I know its a lil too late to post it since I bot it, but I thought of it as a SOCIAL OBLIGATION to do so.
I would suggest and encourage you to do it with whatever car you buy in public interest.

Jus make sure you research on dealerships thoroughly before you contemplate a buy.
