Well had heard a lot about this car, finally got a chance to drive it when my jiju bought it.
Why Ford Figo:-
My jiju was looking for a hatch back for around 5 lakh Rs. I suggested i10, wagon r and the ford figo.he asked me to pick one.i said ford figo is my pick cause Figo was well appreciated, and ford sold good volumes of figo . although personally I own a wagon r, but Figo looks more fresh and stylish.
Looks and Styling: -
The ford figo looks very stylish and sporty.The head lamp cluster looks big and bold. The curve at the side gives it a muscular look. The style and design is typically like a ford car. Figo looks somewhat like Fusion and Fiesta. The upper grill is slim while the lower grill is quite large. Body coloured bumpers and handles add to the sporty look.The wipers(Rear and front) are rain sensing which is a pretty cool feature.
Interiors:-
Ford Figo has the best looking interiors in its class. The interiors are plush and stylish. The instrument panel is pretty attractive.It has 2 trip meters, digital odometer, tachometer and a digital clock. The music player has glossy look and nice display.
Comfort & space:-
Ford figo is quite long and wide. Three people can comfortably sit at the rear without feeling cramped up, the driver seat is quite comfortable and adjustable.The height of the car is a bit less and tall people may touch the roof at times. Also, a tall person may find it a bit difficult to drive, he will probably have to adjust the seat backwards but that leaves less leg room for the rear passenger. Yet, space wise it beats its competitors.The rear boot space is enough to carry luggage for long tours.
Controls & ride quality:-
The controls of ford figo are pretty fine, the side view mirrors are electronically adjustable. One thing that may annoy you is that the indicator control is on the left side and wiper controls are on the right side. Ergonomically this seems odd.i wonder why it is so. The power steering is really smooth and one can drive effortlessly. The ride quality is really good and the car feels really sturdy and firm even at high speed. I found the pick up in second gear very sluggish . am not sure whether this problem was only in particular to the one I drove or with everyone.
Engine & Mileage:-
Ford figo has disel as well as the petrol version. It has a 1.2L engine, with a cubic capacity of 1196 and a power output of 71PS. I didnt get a chance to check the mileage but its said to give about 12 Kms per liter in city and 15 kms per litre on highway.
Music Player:-
Figos music player is really nice. The controls of the music player look cool, the bluetooth connectivity is an icing on the cake. I wonder whats the brand of the music player. The blue tooth connectivity is really useful, and you can access your phonebook contacts and call logs through the music player display. You can make and receive calls while driving .but hey.how safe is that huh?
Overall:-
Over all the ford figo is indeed an all rounder among the hatchbacks. Its closest competitor is the i10 I believe which lacks space. Figo is a good quality product and considering its price tag it is really a value for money car.
