FORD FIGO 1.4 DIESEL TITANIUM- bad purchase

Ford figo diesel 1.4 is car for relaxed people and not for enthusiasts who like peppyness and amazing looks. this car is not eager to show good throttle response but just sedate driving. you will always wish if I could have more powerful car when you compare with other diesel cars with smaller engine(swift ddis-1248 cc yet 75 bhp) or equilents(i20's 1.4 diesel with 90 bhp power). also the sound of the engine is on the higher side and crude. dashboard texture is very raw and boring. it does reflects a lot of light to the driver. using goggles is highly recommended during sunny days. during night, headlights with give u headache as they lack good illumination on road. you will keep on shifting from high to low beam frequently

looks- a major downfall. side profile is awful. sit inside and you are greeted with plain basic design dashboard. instrument cluster should have included larger RPM meter. speedometer is upto 220 kmph but figo doesn't go beyond 150-160. there is considerable vibrations inside on high speed making driving nervous above 120.

space- space appears to be good considering narrow seats and less under thigh support making driving a bit laborious job. boot space is good and useful.

fuel consumption is good only if you drive it in 80-90 kmph range. otherwise due to heavier curb weight and slow speed driving to avoid speed breakers scarping underbelly(its underbody height from ground is only good on papers) will give you you average mileage of 14-14.5 km/liter. also gear shift is quite frequent to avoid shuddering. speed breakers are crossed strictly in first gear.

Reliability- ford motors are said to be reliable but not the case with figo. a small underbody hit can force you stranded on middle of the road. although a plastic cover is there to protect gear and clutch connections but it breaks too easily and this connection can become loose(gear to clutch) and can easily eat up your clutch plate if you are wondering why I am not getting proper power from engine.

dealer and service station- dealers are not very helpful in after purchase issues and will only transfer calls to service guys who will charge for small rectifications also. Noise( a big nuisance) from almost everywhere from doors, rear seat loose connections and plastic parts covering pillors from seat to top. on every service you have to get them fixed and yet they reappear withing 100-150 km of driving after service. serive guys just apply simple black tape to plastic parts and door locks and says that now it wont make noise. but noise will never go permanently and if you want to avoid this noise distractions, keep music volume high. for very small scratches, service guys with insist on full panel charge(around 3500 for each panel like each door etc.) also very small things like figo logo or titanium logo will cost around 1500 each. ALSO body rusts every easily particularly at the door corners and edges just below the door glass

if you can live with just good boot space and good AC(although it will suck outer bad smell even if you put inner air circulation mode) then go for figo, otherwise look for other available options in the market
