Why is my wife angry? I wake up early on the weekends to take a nice drive. I spend more time on cleaning my Figo than at home.( Kinetic Blue so more upkeep required)
First of all - I am mechanically inclined and have the workshop manual for the Figo. I got a large set of tools as well. So basic maintenance I am able to handle. I will also not comment on my dealer experience at all but rate them below only.
Why I bought this car? Due to my old Ikon 1.6 ZXI. I am not able to digest the handling of any other car due to that. I love the handling.
I like the stereo and the stiff ride. I am not a fan of soft handling. I get average milage compared to the swifts and dezires but I knew that before I bought the Figo. I get 15.5 I city and 19-20 on highways. Actually the sales person told me lower milages than what I am currently getting.
I have driven to Rishikesh, Shivpuri( real bad roads), Shimla and Chail in heavy snow but never hit the underbelly. I keep 33 PSI always. with load 36 front and 40 at back. I do not drive more than 110 kmph so till then it handles superbly. I have moved my house so good boot space. I cornered real hard multiple times so handling dept is the best. Engine noise.it is loud. Keeps me awake on long drives.lol . I usually drive in 1, 2, 3 gears in city and keep car in the powerband <2200rpms. More milage than driving on 4th and 5th in the city. Also much better for clutch and turbocharger and engine mounts. I also religiously do as per handbook once a week. 3 K rpms post warmup for 2minutes. This keeps the EGR and turbo clean. Also great for pickup. On highways 5th is only post 60 kmph as it is good for clutch and turbo
What I dont like:
low power - Post 18000 kms this got fixed as the engine takes this long to break in. Still a few more HP would have been nice. Took on steep inclines in Rishikesh on 1st gear.
Flex rubbery noise form window rubbers - I use silicone grease to quieten this issue
weak drop links / Link rods - I get aftermarket Talbro 650 for both side and fix myself every 1 year.( I drive to the hills often so I understand the wear)
