Ford Figo ZXI Petrol. Review on Ford Figo

Well to be frank this is not really a review. Its my personal view.

I took delivery of 1.2 Ford Figo ZXI (Petrol) on Saturday (20 Aug, 2011) from Cauvery Ford Bangalore. Sales person explained me every features though I cant remember them all but once u see the booklet provided with the car, u can recall everything.

I took it to temple first but since it was evening time, there were lot of traffic. I was a little nervous since it was new car so I was driving very carefully but I was amazed with the handling of car and once I was behind the driver seat, it felt like heaven and car's engine of amazingly smooth. Though there was not great power in 2nd gear (which I thought initially), I just fell in love with this beauty.

A day later I took the car for a bit longer drive (showroom to my home is only 7KMs) so I took it for around 25KMs and tried driving it a higher speed. When I reached 80Km, I felt I was still driving around 50Km since car had perfect road grip, awesome handling and beyond expectation its engine was very very smooth.

I tried going on higher speed in NICE ROAD, Bangalore, and I crossed 140KM without any difference in feeling. Steering wheel was so stable, engine so smooth, handling awesome, road grip too good. Man, I feel in love with this car!!!!

Coming back to 2nd gear part, once I had sufficient experience behind the wheel, I found when in 2nd Gear try crossing minimum 1000RPM and u can feel the difference and U will never have that less power issue.

I have driven it for just 100Km so far so I wont comment much on fuel economy, but I feel compared to Swift it is giving less mileage. But once u are behind the wheel and drive, u'll never get a feeling that u are driving a hatchback....It is similar to any Sedan car.

In some of the blogs I read Figo's headlight is not strong enough to drive in highways but I never felt that. Infact it is similar to Swift's headlight (except the design). More ever, Figo's AC is really awesome and its cools the car within a minute. Infact one feel like switching it off in less that 5 minutes :)

Figo's in-built stereo system is very good and its sound quality is superb. And there are features like Bluetooth /USB (I got it free of cost from my dealer) interface which is really helpful. Just connect the phone with the audio system using bluetooth and take calls as one take on bluetooth headset. Taking call, accessing phone book, playing songs (from cellphone and listening on car's audio system) etc etc, is made so easy. This features really make someone feel like driving high class car.

Driving in heavy rain, I felt Figo's wiper is far better than Swift's (I have driven Swift in rain). And driver's seat height adjustable feature is nice and really helpful. One can adjust the driver's seat height as per their convenience. Also when front seat is moved completely back then also there is much leg space for rear passenger. Space wise, this is the best car in this segment and 5 person can seat comfortably though seating 4 person in rear seat is possible though it will be a bit packed but far better than Wagon R or Swift or Ritz.

In short, Ford Figo is worth a car, best family car and complete value for money. People  talk a lot about its ground clearance but so far I have not encountered  such problem or maybe Ford might have increased its round clearance for  new model.

Figo a small car but definitely with BIG CAR FEELING!!
