I am writing this review after 14k kms on the order of my Figo (Exi- diesel, Feb 2013 model).

The car is simply amazing and for that I am giving my valuable time for typing this review. Ford I am doing marketing for you for free! :D. Yes, I am, because I am a happy customer. Everything is just the best with this car, be it the handling, ride, space.

Air-conditioning

The A/c is probably the most powerful one for any hatch. The a/c in Figo is of 160cc capacity whereas in swift it is just 90cc, these numbers simply translate into the fact that it chills the car in a matter of mins.

Space

The space in the car is pretty good, and for this reason only I went with Figo, otherwise I also would have opted for swift. Being 6''3' tall, I never found swift to be the car for me. But the Figo can accommodate 5 people like me easily (if need be :D)

Mileage

This is the one topic we Indians are most concerned about. Of course the a/c is powerful, its 160cc capacity, so when it is on the mileage drops, pick-up drops and the you will notice a considerable amount of engine power being transferred to that a/c just to run it.

So with the a/c on:

City - 13 KMPL (Lowest recorded)

Highway - 15 KMPL (Lowest recorded)

Without the a/c:

City - 15 to 16 KMPL

Highway - 20 KMPL

On average with 30% of time a/c on in Delhi, I get around 16 KMPL.

Diesel is what around Rs.52 in Delhi, so that's like Rs.3.25 per Km. this is pretty much ok. I have a Royal Enfield bullet too, that's like Rs.4 per Km. So my bike is more thirsty than my car.

Ford as a brand

Ford cars are the best handling cars in the market right now, Figo is a heavy car 1100kgs+ easily, with heavy doors which results in lower NVH levels. The cabin is well insulated, no outside noise, no road noise and very little engine noise. I kinda like black interiors better than the beige color ones.

Cost of maintenance

Ford any-day is easier on pockets of its customers. There is rule that every one should follow, before taking a test drive, go to the service station first, grab hold a customer who has the car you want to test drive (or buy eventually) and that customer will tell you the exact cost of maintenance and everything. Simple isn't it?

For me, I have had two servicing done as of yet. One at 2500kms which cost me nothing, and second at 10000kms which costed Rs.2200 only.

For every 10000kms the servicing cost is Rs.2200 and after every 30000kms there is a change of some essentials like brake oil, steering oil and all, so that will cost you only Rs.1800 more. I had interacted with so many Figo owners at the service station, I couldn't find a single one cribbing for the cost of servicing.

And brands like Ford, they have worked on servicing very well because they had too, there is no other way they can sell cars specially in India. And do talk to Maruti and Hyundai owners also, you will be surprised to hear what they say about servicing.

Conclusion

Ford Figo is a nice car that handles well, rides well, keeps you in comfort and in a calm mood. You should go for it hands down.

A very imp thing

This is a strong car with strong bumpers, you will never find a damaged Figo on the street with a busted bumper, I can bet my money on that. I myself have experienced this so many times. I do a lot of bumper to bumper driving in Delhi, you will always find people hitting you from behind so many times in Delhi, specially with so many ladies driving.

But the bumpers are seriously very strong both front and back, recently a Cherovet Cruze rear ended my Figo, my car was undamaged and the Cruze had broken its left headlight. Not even a scratch, and then I started noticing other Figos on the road, you will never find a damage bumper on a Figo. Start observing yourself, you will get to know what I am saying.

Thanks Ford!
