After a long research of 2 months, i finally booked a figo petrol zxi 2 days back. Delivery is expected on 19th may. As on selection criteria - punto and polo were phased out due to their elevated price tags. So the real competitors were - swift, beat and i10.swift rolled out b'coz of the vxi version touching 5 lacs n i already have a dzire back home.beat had just one plus point of a better claimed mileage (18 kmpl).
My budget plans were such to wrap the deal close to 4 lacs. Thus i was eyeing the exi version. But the under-mentioned features lured me towards zxi. Driver seat height adjust> rear wiper> bluetooth phone interface> electronically controlled side mirrors> cargo area lamp> body coloured door handles and mirrors> rear de-fogger> tachometer
All this for just 23 k extra !! I immediately decided to expand my budget and avail all these. I test rode of both diesel and petrol versions ; diesel was way better to drive but economically thinking, i had to choose petrol due to lesser running distances.
Stability was damn good. Stereo controls were easily operable without shifting the hand away from the gear lever lane changing indicating system was impressive steering wheel being hydraulic was not as light as that of a swift, but wasn't bad either seats were quite comfortable interiors looked just awesome - although i did not like the red dash board and opted for a black one boot space is the best I've seen in this segment cars bonnet was visible from the driving seat, thus giving a decent front view (left side)talking to a friend on bluetooth interface amazed me- but unfortunately my phone did not connect doors get automatically locked at 7 kmph and the boot opening button also gets disabled the pick-up of the petrol version was not as good as the competitors but the ac on and off did not affect the throttle much, and it was effective also
Also talked to a couple of owners - 13 to 14 kmpl is what they are getting in city with ac.
As an overall package, with all these features and that catchy price point of 4.5 lacs only.i immediately got it booked at cargo ford, ahmedabad. Looking forward towards the delivery on 19th may. Shall post my review again. FYI: ZXI is one short of top end barring air bags, abs and 6 speed wipers.
