I am writing this review to help you make a better decision while buying a car. I compared Swift, Polo, i20, Punto, and Micra and settled for a Figo Titanium(Petrol).

I liked a few things. A few I did not. I am listing only those things you better know before going for a Figo. This will help you avoid disappointment later.

Size:

It does not behave like a small car when you drive it. You have a big sedan like feel.

Space:

Second best in class. Smaller than the i20. But these few millimeters do not change anything. Figo is intelligently designed to keep more space inside. Five people can seat comfortably. Nice legroom.

Booth is good for five people with luggage. Again second largest in class, i20 is slightly bigger.

Ride:

It has a soft suspension. Excellent on good roads, but rolls a lot on bad roads. If you do bad roads regularly, this is not your car.

Ride like a charm on the highway, even at very high speeds.

Body roll is a major problem on bad roads.

Ground clearance is a problem on bad roads with 5 people on board. You need to drive very slowly. The bumps can really scratch the floor of the car as it gets hit very hard.

Swift and Punto do much better on bad roads.

Not a car for bad roads.

Economy:

Not the best in class but reasonable. You will get 12-14km/l after the first service.

The AC in the Figo uses a large compressor and burn a lot of petrol.

Power:

The petrol model is low on torque. Climbing slopes with AC on, is a pain with this 1.2 L engine. But this is true for all of the cars I compared. Better to keep the AC off on hilly roads.

For city driving there is ample power at your disposal. You can overtake the competition with ease. Thanks the great handling that assist that.

The Noise Factor:

Cabin noise is dramatically suppressed. Both engine and road noise is significantly reduced for a car of its class. This significantly reduces the stress on you on long journeys; also allow you to arrive at the office in the morning, with a fresh mind.

Can’t detect engine vibrations even at high RPM.

This car is smoother than my brother’s Honda City.

After Sales Service:

After sales service had been a nightmare with previous Ford owners. But this is not going to be the case with Figo. Most components of the car are made in India and spares are easily available. Dealer network has improved a bit.

But there are still some problems with the services, like home pick up drop of the car for servicing. You need to book much in advance.

The dealer is not as professional as a Hyundai or Maruti dealer.

Audio System

Awesome 4 channel stereo. Bluetooth works like a charm. You can take / make calls from the audio system. No need to hold the mobile handset.

The CD player plays mp3 CDs as well.

You can add a cord to connect USBs the music system. The cord is placed in the glove box. Cost is rs 1100/- at the dealer.

Other things you should know:

The rear doors do not have power windows. You can’t fit power Windows there as there is no space for the motor.

The rear window glasses come down only 60%. This was a major disappointment for me as I discovered it only after taking delivery of the car.

Steering is best in class and even more responsive than more expensive cars.

You can’t tilt the steering, but you make move the driving seat up and down.

ABS saves lives. With Figo you get ABS and Airbags at the lowest cost in the Titanium variant.

Both I20 and Punto are more expensive than Figo. But most of the buck is used up in cosmetic features. Figo lacks the cosmetics, costs less. But my point is that the core of the car(the car minus the cosmetics) is much better in Figo.

Figo is real bang for the buck.
