Just test drove the fiesta 1.4 tdci sxi today. in brief.
1) seating position is adequately comfortable for a six footer. i'm 6.2.
2) gear shift is very comfortable. good distance from the seat. dont have to bend forward and the gear slots are cut-to-cut. no play whatsoever.
3) clutch feels little heavy. im sure its heavy as it was a brand new test vehicle.
4) acceleration is smooth, powerful and liner.
5) brake is softer than usual but firm when pressure applied is prompt.
6) ride is butter like for the front passengers. The rear suspension . not sure coz I cud feel the little bumps like a'thud'.
7) interiors, classy n sporty.
8) space inside. feels quite cramped for a large person. leg room is plenty. but with the front seat shifted right to the back, the rear passenger would probably need to sit with his/her legs folded.
9) engine response. . good. peppy. noisier than expected.
10) NVH levels. engine noise is audible from the cabin, vibration. only engine vibrations can be felt at start up and idling, heat. no chance.
11) Dash board equipment levels are neat on the sxi and the fake wood panel is much much better than the verna top end.
12) getting in and out of the car is a task coz the seating is low n inclined.
13) interior plastics. lil tacky. verna is much better.
14) Resale price. im sure it wont be too good 3 years ahead.
Overall, feels like a good car for midgets. simple. verna n fiesta.two sides of the same coin.
