I Never Wanted To Leave. Review on Florida

For a short time in 1993, my family and I had the privilege of living in Florida. It is such a beautiful state and we enjoyed every day that we had there. Because of my wife's asthma, the summer was to hard on her and we ended up having to leave. While we were there, the things that we enjoyed the most were:

Disney Land: This was an absolute must. Whether you are just visiting or if you live there, every child deserves to go at least once. As we lived in St. Petersburg, we were able to go several times. I am not sure if it was the rides, the characters, or the wide variety of shows that kept my children coming back. I just know that it was on the top of their list of things to do.

Cocoa Beach: This was some place that we would just take off to after work many times. We loved to go surfing (body or with a board). The amazing variety of people you would meet was also a great experience. Of course, we liked to swim as well. There is also a wide variety of foods eat at the beach as well.

Shuttle Launch: This was something that my children, my wife, nor I will ever forget. It was the most amazing thing to watch a piece of history unfold. To go along with that amazing day, we visited NASA. There are so many museums and so much information, that it is difficult to absorb in one day. So we did not. We came back again and again.

While we are talking about all of the wonderful things to do in Florida, let us not forget the sheer beauty of the state. The ocean is so beautiful, the vegetation is like in no other state, the wild life--well, my wife could have left some of that behind. When we were on a canoe trip one weekend, we were surrounded by alligators. I did not think that I would ever get her out again, but I did,

The fishing here is like no place else on earth. We would so enjoy chartering a boat for a weekend and catching the wonders of the day. My wife had never in her life dreamed of catching a Marlin or a Shark. I did not think that I would get her to eat it--but I did. A far cry from the fish that my little Wisconsin girl was used to.

One could go on and on about the wonders of the state. It has been eight years now since we have been gone and every year we still get the itch to go back. We have not even vacationed there since. We all know that if we were to step foot back in the state, we would never leave.

If I had to find a negative for you, it would have probably been Hurricane season. But being in construction, I could even find a possitive to that. It gave way for plenty of play time in the off season.
