I had been a regularly shopping with flipkart for books and accessories for some time now. Last month I decided to explore Camera and cellphones.
There are two sets of information I would like to share:
Flipkart is not the place for least cost shopping solution as they claim through the adds:
I had purchased a Canon600D camera with 55: 250 lens with them last month with freebees including bag and memory card. However the product was also available at the canon stores for the same price. On top of that they were also providing a lens cleaning kit with a tripod stand. When I took this matter up with the customer care they just cut me off with an apology.
Poor design, false promises and ignoring to respond along with the mobile I had purchased a mobile cover. The website had a blue case and I was sent a black case. When I wrote back to them they said they do not have a replacement unless its damaged but agreed to arrange back for a credit( to the wallet) which needs to be encashed with the vendor with whom the previous product was purchased. The design is so pathetic that we will not be able to search through the vendors, we should select the product and then figure out if/ the vendor sells such product. When I took this concern back with them they arranged for a credit to my account and collected my account details. I was for once happy that customer satisfaction is indeed their priority.
To my shock post collecting the product from me( again here I was getting repeated messages that the attempt to collect the product was unsuccessful though I had my parents available at home) they went on to credit the money to the wallet as against the my account which they had promised. There were no responses to my email post that( repeat follow ups) . I finally started to look for products and to see if the vendor sells them and finally managed to find a product and redeemed my money blocked in their wallet. Again there was a lapse in delivery and I received a product after 2 days delay( from initial date promised which has buffer days) .
I had also suggested to them they need to revisit the vendors they have tied up with in the interest of customers as its flipkart with whom we are shopping. Its up to them if they want customer satisfaction to be their utmost priority.
My bad experience last month questions me - Is flipkart really the safe, best and cost effective place shop? I am not convinced it is.
