It is ironic that my second review comes as a stark opposite to the first one I wrote about you a few days back. I am sorry but I have to chew back upon my words.


I placed this particular item on pre-order through order number OD20630190256 on 30/6/12. The release date on the website said early July. No issues; as I understand that Flipkart is just a retailer and cannot pinpoint the date of release from Game vendor. Anyways, the release date came after a while (between 10/7 to 17/7) and passed away without any intimation (an automated email would have been appreciated).


Then on 10/7/12, I called your call center to know the whereabouts of my order. They informed me that it is released and I will be receiving it by 17/7/12. When nothing showed up on my doorsteps on 17/7, I called them again. The genius who took my call suggested that the item should be canceled and I should place a fresh order. I objected to this proposal verbally and also sent an email to the customer support mail address (incident number 120723-006836) stating very clearly that the order should not be canceled and is to be delivered ASAP. Nevertheless, it was cancelled despite of my ranting.


Hence, as a last resort, today I tried to place a fresh order for this item and guess what. The item is out of stock again. I have been asked to select the 'Notify me' field on your website for this item's availability (God knows whether it works or not, considering how your 'preorder' option failed miserably).  So, here I am, after waiting for nearly one month, without the product.


Since I work as a Supply chain and order processing consultant for a major auto OEM, I will like to make a few free suggestions which will prevent other hapless customers to suffer similar fate:




  1. Notify customer whenever a pre-order item is released and order processing for the customer's order has started. (It is called order confirmation)




  2. Clearly indicate which phase of order processing is the item (Backordered, under picking, packing, shipped to customer etc.)




  3. When procuring from your vendor, please include the preorder qty that are already at hand. I feel that in this case, the stock was exhausted even before pre-orders were processed.






It is rightly said not to go by first impressions while judging a person/company. Good that you have kept this adage true.
