The Worst Gimmick. Review on Flipkart

I always saw flipkart as one of the most reliable E-commerce company in india and I was going to give this website a positive review but the recent big billion sale changed all that. And yes I asked myself, is it okay to be so negative for a single mistake? Yes because of one powerful reason which is making a fool out of people, not one but a billion. Problems do happen while shopping online but thats just few times and mostly which are solved, nothing on a scale of this. They had advertisements everywhere, tv, every newspaper so they should expect such an amount of traffic and they should have been able to handle it else they shouldn't have advertised so much and cry that they couldn't handle anything.

That day I woke up to a call from my cousin, asking me to check the paper about the big billion day, seeing the deals I was shocked, it was too good to be true, a samsung galaxy tab 2 for 1300RS, hand blender for 1rs and a few other crazy deals. I logged in at 7:45 itself, getting ready to buy the tablet, I thought ill add it to my cart before the sale and buy it just when it starts but I couldn't find it anywhere, the item wasn't even searchable, and when the sale started I saw it instantly, clicked that second itself only to see "OUT OF STOCK", this happened in the first few seconds of the sale. How many pieces did they have? 2 pieces? 1?

The Steal sale was purely a trick to attract people to their website, it was a completely bogus gimmick, everything in the steal sale goes out of stock within seconds, I guess maybe 1 or 2 people among the entire Indian population might have got their hands on them which itself I doubt.

Now moving from the horrendous stealsale to what actually made me even write this review. Even-though there were items which were actually discounted which obviously got out of stock within seconds, I saw so many items which had their prices doubled and then reduced to the original price or even higher than their original price with a 50% discount tag, I always searched the prices of such items on the internet and found it cheaper on snapdeal and ebay.in, Yes the 50% discounted items. An uninformed person would buy that thinking its a great offer. Why would flipkart do that? they already have so much money and have acquired a good name in this country. Why would they go to such an extend to fool people, have they gone too greedy?

I know one person who managed to get a 7k phone for 1500, but after taking his money, they cancelled that order and added 1500 as flipkart wallet money as a "GOODWILL GESTURE"

Seriously? After being on their facebook page, I find so many frustrated annoyed customers who got items removed from their cart and people who got their items cancelled after paying large sum for stuffs like TV, laptop etc and they have to wait for refund. As for me I was sitting there in-front of the computer trying get at-least one item that I wanted from the sale, everything had their prices increased or mainly OUT of STOCK. Being from kerala I have one more big issue with flipkart, many of the items doesn't ship to kerala while all the other sites does.

People might ask, Why so harsh for one mistake? All I can say is, flipkart is a multimillion, or what billion? eCommerce company in india and if they cant stick to what they promise and on top of that, fool the same people who made them what they are, I don't care how good they were in the past, they just don't deserve respect. Not that it matters to flipkart as they are too big for all of that. They wont care what people say because I know and flipkart knows that people will still buy from them, and I don't want to be a hypocrite, I myself will buy from them again even after all this horrendous experiences. Everyone will still buy from them, just that they lost so much credibility and trust from loyal customers for their worst possible gimmick yet.
