Selling on Flipkart might have been a dream for many suppliers but for me it has already proved to be a nightmare. I have my own website selling designer wears(Ladies ethnic wear) but just wanted to sell on Flipkart expecting a good sale on such a prestigious platform. One day we received an order of 5 products from a buyer from Bangalore and we were just thrilled to ship it. The products were packed and handed over to the E-Kart person as instructed to us by Flipkart. The order was successfully delivered and there comes the catch. Request of return was done by the buyer and the reason stated by the buyer was - Misshipment(Different Product received) and he returned the products. The products we got back on return were total scrap, useless and absolutely nothing close to what we had dispatched. We informed the flipkart people about the same, raised the tickets, claimed the spfs and got deducted amount back and also an assurance that this particular buyer is being blacklisted and do not ship to him in future. The buyer again created a new Id and again placed 29 orders within 24 hrs on 14th and 15th June. The name was changed but the address was a bit familiar as other than the first line rest of the address was same in all of them. We immediately informed flipkart about this and asked them for the buyer verification. After doing the same and finding him genuine they instructed us to dispatch as soon as possible or we would be fined heavy penalties for not doing so. After various warnings to them prior to again sending the parcels we dispatched the parcels and we requested the E-Kart pickup boy too to first check our products which he refused to do.


He kept on receiving all the parcels and untill all 29 were delivered to him. This order was worth Rs. 1,50,000 which was quiet a big amount atleast for a business person like us. Flipkart investigated and informed us that 14 orders were delivered and - 'Checked with the customer history, Customer has a bad purchasing history, more returns and cancellation, customer is a RVP abuser, hence blacklisting the customer'. this Incident ID was 160623-008856. Meanwhile other 15 orders were still on its way. The question is that first they themselves say that the buyer is not genuine then for the rest of the orders they again say that the order is genuine despite of the fact that the delivery and the return addresses have mostly been the same everytime!.


when all 29 were successfully delivered he again requested to return them and selected the reason:MIsshipment(Received wrong Products).


It was quiet wierd that flipkart had earlier clearly stated that the buyer was not genuine and they accepted this fact for 15/29 orders but not for the other 14 orders? Now we are just calling and calling and calling but got no benefit and there is no answers to our SPF claims though we received a little amount for those 14 orders from which they deducted almost more than 50%. After a lot of chasing we got to talk to a very senior person who is now asking for some proof that we dispatched the correct products and asking us to send them the CCTV footage or photos or videos showing that we have dispatched the correct products! doesn't it sound astoundingly wierd and vague? Only then he would be escalating our issue. One thing was clear that flipkart is blind towards its buyer and turns their heads away from the sellers. This was total harrassement and diplomatically rude beviour from flipkart which was absolutely not expected from such an esteemed company. We relied on them and thought of doing business through them, this was our fault. Flipkart was in a win-win position as he refunded the buyer and earned commission from us too.


Well, I really do not know how to move further but definitely be going to knock the doors of court and legally questioning flipkart regarding this.


Not money but got a very big lesson, Never Trust Flipkart. Selling with flipkart was the worst decision made by us and it is absolutely not recommended for the innocent suppliers to sell with them. It might put them in debts and losses.
