Har din ek naya chehra?.. Review on Flaws in Television Serials

Lol okay my hindi is messed up. But whatever, I wanted to bring out the subject on plastic surgery. Okay, many of us mentioned how ridiculous the concept on plastic surgery in these serials is but I’d like to elaborate on this topic. What’s the first image that comes to mind when you hear the word plastic surgery? It’s probably a physical change in face or any other body part because of a certain dislike. But what do we see in these serials?

Anytime, anywhere plastic surgery is done as though it is meant to be an amusement of some sort. I’m sure you’ve all noticed the evident changes that occur in the person who underwent the surgery! The persons voice, height, attitude, hairstyle and what not change magically- one thing I don’t understand is that their personality changes too! One moment they’re cruel people and after the operation they become angels.Voila!

And the person’s a completely new lady(or man)! Never mind that, we see the poorest of all poor getting plastic surgery done. I mean honestly, it’s supposed to be really expensive! It’s a wonder how they get their money whenever they need it. Unless the doctor felt sorry for her and performed the surgery free of cost! That could be a possibility in these serials but otherwise, I don’t think any doctor would take the risk of losing so much money! Overlooking that, in this fantasy world, guess what happens to a person after he dies- or is burnt to death? He undergoes plastic surgery and reappears magically!

You ALL should have guessed that(rolls eyes) lolz! Okay so one minute there’s a man who has been stabbed brutally all the way from head to foot and then he vanishes for a couple of years and when Ms.Ekta needs more characters, she introduces the man again except that it’s a different character playing the same role. Lolz isn’t that ridiculous?

I mean so somehow or the other, most of her characters come back to life by this ‘amazing’ process of plastic surgery!
