Kekta Ke K 2004!

Like one of those awards ceremonies that they show continuously, I am proud to announce my own - Kekta Ke K! 2004. Lucky Ekta has won all the awards. Let’s proceed, shall we?

Kasautii

Zindagii Kay- Ekta trying to raise the TRPs. A new plot twist - Aporna, the goody-goody wife, who used to keep a glum face and say at least thirty times in every episode ’Oonurag ji murdered Anurag. Small stabbing. Then she brought back her old flame, Debu, and gave herself a makeover. Then she died, but not after some mud wrestling with Prerna. This show is now again boring, and it is not even bearable to watch!

Kahiin to Hoga- Hah! Sujal lovers out there - this is for you. The large-eyed Kashish married her old boyfriend Sujal, to get revenge on him for supposedly ’murdering my Piyush’. And her sisters - Mehek, who seems to be getting pregnant again and again. Mouli, who disappears to chat with Smriti for a while in K Street Pali Hill, and then comes back. Kanan, who has faded into the background. And Charu, the spoilt brat. They all have their own background musics, boyfriends, etc. And we endure it.

K Street Pali Hill- Thought I’d spare this? You were wrong. It might be new, but the plot is over-used. The same plot was used in Kaahin Kissii Roz, and I hear something about a show named Kayaamat with the same. A girl comes to K Mansion to find out who her father is, and ruin him. Is it Aditya, with the white highlights? Or Aurindam, who has so much make-up packed on that he puts his wife to shame? It might even be Bikram, who can’t live without his ponytail? Interesting fact: Twenty years ago, his ponytail and beard were exactly the same length. Amazing!

Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii- After the confusion of who is Swati Dixit and who is Parvati Agarwal (for more details read my review on it), some bikers arrived. Sorry, I keep calling them bikers. They keep circling around Parvati ..... Aunty. Shruti’s husband turned out to be a dhokebaaz (backstabber), who grew a beard and long hair. Now he flaunts it. Some people call their hair a ’Tom Cruise’ look. This guy calls his an ’Ansh’ look! The Agarwal family has lost all their money, and now blame Krishna. A boy blames his own brother for something he himself did...

Kyunki... Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi- The show will never end. The track right now is that Tulsi’s daughter’s husband Vishal has died - with a special effects death - and Tulsi’s daughter’s husband’s mother Payal - or you could call her Tulsi’s husband’s ex-flame - thinks that Karan - Tulsi’s husband’s son - has done the dastardly deed. Plus, there is Nandini, and the original Ansh. The show, even if Tulsi dies, I bet that she will be re-born, and then the story will start all over again.

The shows will all go on for years, and none of them will ever reach their logical conclusion. I mean, that even if Ekta herself retires, then somebody else will take over and do the same thing.

Ekta appears on stage, and carries all the five awards. She walks up to the microphone, with all sorts of necklaces, bracelets, and other superstitious things. She says a few cheesy lines, for which her dialogue writer must have worked overtime. Well, now that that’s over, let’s go to our performances!

I don’t know how long we will endure these five shows. Maybe if everyone in India decided to stop watching them for a couple of weeks - then maybe they would end. But then, there are always those people who don’t want them to end.
