As usual this is not a review listing with Five names as Worst writers of MS but I have my own list of some bad qualities and characters of some writers here. This is a general opinion and no single point refer to no single person and those who possess maximum of the 20 listed below is the Worst. Those true to heart members will realize their mistakes and I hope they will avoid doing such things in the future. First of all who am I to point out, I do possess even I possess some of the qualities mentioned below and I promise that I will correct myself.
But I have categorised these 20 points as Very bad, bad, somewhat bad, neither bad nor good.
Very Bad
--Writing Plagiarized reviews
Mostly done by newbies but recently a good writer and a member of this site whom I have trusted has cheated us by copying a review from a site for the movie ?Passion of the christ?. Who knows there may be many members like him. Nobody is perfect.
--Intentionally writing controversial reviews on topics
Like writing review on Five worst review writer mentioning some of very good writers names in the list, review as ?Lagaan is a bad movie?, and many a like to get the attention of all the members.
--Revenge ratings.
-- Rating and even commenting reviews without reading and it is too bad that even some of the star writers do such things.
--There are some members who never forget to criticize the writings but never appreciate and encourages some good work.
Bad
--Writing too short reviews which lacks in information about the reviewed product/ service.
--Writing lengthy reviews because many of them here has no patience to read such long reviews.
But there is one more side of this point. There are some topics which demands such lengthy reviews like Twenty best, Ten best etc.,for such topics it is impossible to complete the review within 8k limit and give full justification to the topic and so lengthy reviews ca be excused in such cases and can be apprecited if some good work is done for making the review entertaining. But on the other hand, a movie/ album/ book review need not be more than 8k words and for such topics if the review exceeds 8k limit it is to be criticised because a good writer can convey what he has to in even 1k words effectively on such topics.
--Writing reviews using short terms as we use in SMS and chat mailing style.
--Using Hindi and their own languages instead of English at many places in their reviews which cannot be understood by everyone.
--Rating the reviews based on previous ratings
--And finally mentioning 5 names in particular in this review on this topic without any proper justification to their choices.
Somewhat Bad
--Writing reviews on something they don?t know or they don?t have any interest on some compulsion like participating in Review contests.
For past one month I have been reading many such nonsense reviews about travels, fashion, books etc.,(even though there are many goodies) Some of them simply type and post some jargons to win the contest without reading carefully the conditions mentioned by the site.
--Writing reviews in high level language with very high vocabulary
Actually this is very good for a writer but the problem is purpose of the review is not fulfilled, as what they want to convey may not reach all. What is the use of such high professionalism in writing and knowledge in vocabulary when the content doesn?t reach all the readers.
--Writing reviews in wrong topics (rarely happens)
--Some hardly read rate and comment on reviews but only write reviews.
--Some don?t leave a reason for their low rating when majority of the ratings is high
--Writing too many reviews on the same day.
Neither Bad nor Good
--Rating the reviews based on the star value of the writers without looking the quality of the content of the review
--Writing reviews on wrong topics which is done by fresher mostly.
--Writing the whole review as a one single paragraph which makes the review complex to read and understand.
