Bad bikes I should never have owned
Oct 10, 2009 04:27 PM 22293 Views

1, MZ 150/125 an ugly duckling it did not have a key but a metal bolt to turn the ignition on and this bolt fitted all MZ bikes. That was not the only problem as the bike could break down at any time for no reason. It would just stop and could not be started no matter hard you kicked the starter. Top speed was slug like 50mph. 0-60 was never and the 2 stroke engine smoked a lot like a chimney.

2, MZ300 the big brother of the 150/125 had the same styling. If you could call it styling. It came with orange paint. The worst problem was it would slow down to 20 mph for no reason and then go no faster for the next 30 miles. I hit 90mph while driving up a motorway and the gearbox disintegrated into a pile of rubbish. I gave it back to the garage after a few weeks as I had enough of it.

3, Honda have made bad bikes one to complain about is the CX500. It is very ugly and has a very high center of gravity. This means it is no fun to drive. It also has poor performance so is like a car to drive. The Honda Bros is another feeble machine as many Honda's I've owned are. SS50, CB200 were poor performers the fact they never broke down meant you had to crash them to get rid of them. Honda Benley are also noticable for there mediocrity.

4, Kawasaki GT550 are trash cans on wheels have no rear suspension and dismal acceleration also look awful. Its GT750 big brother took 10 minutes ever morning to get it started.

5, Kawasaki Z440 twin, and Suzuki GSX450 twin gutless wonders with poor fuel consumption acceleration and reliability and they were economy models. Pointless purchases four cylinder machines are so much better.

Hope you find this artical helpful.
