A great book that couldn't be away from me even for a few minutes!
A story or a parable that made me aware of a larger than life purpose that we don't usually see with our myopic vision of life...
A mysterious line on the back cover took me on a mystic flight from the beginning of the book till its end!
''All endings are beginnings. We just don't know it at that time....''
But when I reached the end, I just knew it was just the beginning...of my life, my dreams, my love and my heaven which is my colorful earth!
The story starts with Eddie, a maintenance worker in a theme park, dying when he was trying to save a little girl from a freak accident in one of the games. Eddie dies and goes to heaven, only to meet five people who made a difference in his life....
Eddie through his birthdays, the special events of his life, the war that made him a guilty prisoner to his too-soft a heart, the leg that makes him a cripple for his life and a wife whom we fall in love with along with Eddie... a few incidents and a few accidents but a whole lifetime of Eddie to us with his joys, sorrows, heartbreaks and love....
We are the reason for a change of course in many-a-people's lives and many others are the reason for the change in our life's seasons too...Some we know, but some we don't know....
How would it be to meet those unique five who made a difference in your life?
A person who was hurt irrevocably by your innocent deed, a father with whom you never made a peace, a lover who was taken away from you all too soon, the hate towards fate for never making your life's dreams....all these are just not unique only to Eddie's life...it is to us too....
Our heart loves, our soul knows...so why let our minds manipulate and hate? why wait for the heaven to teach us this little peace of wisdom on our earth...?
A truth so soflty whispered with simple words and a spell-binding narration...
''Eddie''s we are made to be, to be with our ''Margeurite''s of our lives, playing around in a roller coaster of life, meeting heaven on our way....
Hats off to Mitch Albom for making me wonder on the special five in my life...!
