The Complete Men!!

After writing review on five most beautiful actresses I thought writing about 5 most handsome actors was going to be dull?. But believe me, it was anything but dull!!

When you think of most beautiful actress, so many faces pop up in our memories with nice dressing, make-up, camera angles etc? that?s because a lot of care has been taken to project the ladies as beautiful. But has the industry projected the actors so much looks wise? So it was a great brain teaser.

In my opinion, the handsomeness is slightly difference from what we see in female beauty. Here we are talking about the masculinity (physique, height etc.), the looks (I mean the face) and the personality, i.e. how they carry themselves.

Before I write about the five in my selection list, let me take a quick glance ove those, who came to my mind, but I dropped them from the final five. For all of these, we must look at the peak 5 years, when the looked their best.

Talat Mahmood:The original Debonair hero of Hindi cinema. I wanted to include him, but the list can accommodate only 5. Hence the closest miss from the list.

Sashi Kapoor, Jeetender, Aamir Khan:I think they are too feminine. I mean, they are good for the soft and gentle image, but not as ?handsome?.

Amitabh Bachchan:I have seen some people rating him as very handsome. But keeping out the acting and personality part, if we look at him, do we really find him handsome? At least I don?t. The same goes for anothermega star: Shahrukh Khan.

Jugal Hansraj, Apoorv Agnihotri, Kumar Gaurav, Rahul Khanna (and a host of other new comers):They are too chocolaty. I mean, they can as well become heroines with a little bit make-up. (anyone remember Kunal from Dil Hi Dil Mein?)

Hrithik Roshan, Dharmendra, Rajesh Khanna, Dillip Kumar, Rajendra Kumar & Shammi Kapoor:They had decent looks. I can not pin point anything negative on them? but in my opinion, they are still not good enough to be in the top list.

SO HERE IS MY LIST.

5. Vinod Khanna:

Good height, a sober face that can be very expressive and a personality to carry. Vinod Khanna of the late 1970s has been a heart throb of many. Even at this age, he is still one of the most handsome men in Bollywood.

Films where he looked best: Muqaddar ka Sikander, Amar Akbar Anthony

4. Salman Khan:

I am not commenting on his acting talents and nor am I commenting on his personal life. All put apart, he has been a very handsome man, from a chocolate hero to a more macho man. Probably I would have put him at the top of the list had it not been for his height and (yuckkk!!) opening his shirts every now and then. I think he ruined his looks by all his stunts.

Films where he looked best: Maine Pyra Kiya, Hum Aapke Hai Kaun, Karan Arjun

3. Navin Nischal:

Do I see a few eyebrows being raised on this selection? You must see this actor (if we can call him an actor) in early seventies movies to see how he looked. A dashing Youngman, with good looks, personality, height and kind of an upperclass aura about him. We can call him as our English Babu of Seventies. But sorry? Looks are not everything. A man must be a decent actor also.

Films where he looked best: Parwana, Buddha Mil Gaya

2. Firoz Khan:

Style is the word that comes to my mind when I think of him. The Indian version of curry-western. This man had everything that comprises good manly looks. Probably he should stop appearing in movies now so that we will remember only the Firoz Khan of 1970s.

Films where he looked best: Qurbani, Dhund

1. Dev Anand:

How can I leave out this man from the list? I have no doubts whatsoever in my mind that he has been the most handsome actor in Hindi Filmdom. A very attractive face, decent height, a good personality? everything was just right for him. And the added advantage that he has over others is that he looked good for a longer duration as compared to others.

From Jaal to Jewel Thief? for nearly 20 years, he maintained his looks. And I am keeping out the Dev Anand after Jewel Thief from this. Lets not get biased seein the so called ?Evergreen Star? today.

Films where he looked best: Jaal, Kalabazaar, CID, Guide
