For the child in you :-)

There is a child in every one of us. No matter how old we are, we still watch(and love) cartoons. A lot of us(Us=grown-ups) also manage to read the daily comic strips in local newspapers, if not read anything else. So I thought I would pick out five comics or comic strips that are really meant for grown-ups(The billion dollar porn industry has just ruined the word'Adult':p).

The list that follows are my own personal choices.Feel free to add your own in the comments.

5. Hagar the Horrible I would have never known this strip even existed, but for Deccan Herald-Bangalore during my high school. Hagar is such a slob and Helga, his wife is so temperamental. Together, they come up with really funny situatios. It may not be as popular as the others in the list, but sure is funny.

4. Garfield/Peanuts I couldn't fit it both and keep the list to five, so I guess they are tied:D The funniest part in both strips are the animals.one a dog and the other a cat. The sarcastic one-liners about their owners really cracks you up. Both strips caught on to become so popular that they were made into movies. I do like Peanut(Charlie Brown) movies, but Garfield movies suck!

3. Asterix Ok.They are really meant for kids and they are a tad silly at times. But I love them. Each book although is essentially about Gauls Vs. Ceasar/Romans, the situation in each book is different and gives room for lots of laughs. I must admit, the first few in the series are definitely funnier.

2. Dilbert The funniest thing I have come across about work humor, Dogbert especially is hilarious, although the whole team is too. When they were first published, people were hooked onto it mainly because the strip voices exactly the sentiments of any average employee. Awesome stuff! The silliest and actually the funniest was a Dilbert book-'Not funny if I have to explain it' which has a collection of strips with a footnote on each strip about why its funny, which is so silly, but makes you laugh.

1. Calvin and Hobbes I could read Calvin and Hobbes innumerable times and never get bored. The 6 yr old smarty pants says the funniest of things that even grown-ups couldn't think of! Hobbes is his perfect partner in all his crimes and Susie Derkins is a'Guest' who rightly puts Calvin and his mouth in place. I would love to mention some of my favorite strips, but then again there are too many:)

There are ofcourse many more funny strips which I didn't include in the list. Oh, and do check out https://glasbergen.com. They come up with the funniest cartoon-of-the-day on a daily basis.
