Looks To Kill

I keep suffering from the biggest writer's blocks a non-writer could possibly have , and so when I saw this topic I felt too relieved. Finally,  there was something I could give my opinion on! It was way too easy, and took me a minute to make up my mind . So these are them, those five actresses that I consider the most mesmerizing, though in no particular order--*

Vidya Sinha*

Vidya Sinha epitomized grace. In fact, she looked like poetry in graphical format. When I think of her I am reminded of 'Palanquin Bearers' She swings like a flower in the wind of a song She skims like a bird on the foam of a stream She floats like a laugh on the lips of a dream She carried her beauty very lightly and never had a 'put on' look. No idea what became of her.

Neetu Singh

Neetu Singh stood for youthfulness. Influenced by her 'Ek main aur ek tu' look I once visited quite a few shops in search of black eye-shadow. If you think she was substitutable, imagine Kim Sharma in same short skirts and knee high boots for an entirely different look. Neetu Singh even today is as b'ful and has not turned into an eyesore (like her husband) and in that she reminds me of Keats , ' a thing of beauty is a joy forever. Its loveliness increases, it will never pass into nothingness '

MadhuBala*

With her unmatched charm, she would be the undisputed queen. Her playful manner in ' accha ji main haari' , the purity of emotion in her eyes in Mugal-e-Azam, with her innocence and those curling of lips , MadhuBala was unique in many ways. It's a pity that she died so young of a heart ailment that is easily curable today.

 Asha Parekh

She had the most expressive eyes; her eyes twinkled in joy, cried in pain, fluttered to flirt and danced when she danced. To that you add Mohd Rafi's voice wooing her .It made her so much prettier.

Deepti Naval

Deepti had the most electric smile , and sparkling eyes that exuded intelligence. She was a delight in Chasm-e-badoor and Saath Saath. Even today, in movies like Freaky Chakra she gives out enough radiance to light up your spirits.

"There are only three things to be done with a woman. You can love her, suffer for her, or turn her into literature''

How true !! And to think I just converted 5 of them into literature. But surely they deserved it. Few actresses of today could match these oldies, may be Madhuri and Kajol. They o may have long retired from active cinema, but they linger.
