Being quite young…. when I am writing under this category, my selected songs would be ones I would sing for my first love, full of innocence and joy! Just by thinking of these songs, I get goosepimples thinking about that ‘first love’! I will stress on the fact that these song are ones that appeal to me the most and not necessarily ones that are very popular! So, here goes…. for the unseen, unknown first love…….
1. KUCH NAA KAHO….(1942- a love story): This is the perfect song that could build up a really romantic mood/ambience for a date or something! The sweetness of it just touches you…. and the lyrics are perfect for the first love, ‘aur is pal mein koi nahin hai…. bas ek main hoon, bas ek tum ho’ … The ‘ehsaas’ of no one except your love…. Oooh!
- My fave lines: “samay ka yeh pal…. tham sa gaya hai!”
WHO PEHLI BAAR……(Pyar mein kabhi kabhi): This is one song that fits the bill perfectly! It is almost brimming over with innocence and joy at remembering those ‘first time’ memories! And Dino and Rinki Khanna do look really cute together…. Sweet song!
- My fave lines: “who pehli baar…… ho gaya yeh dil deewana, hota hai pyar kya hamne jana”
JEENE KE ISHARE……(Phir Milenge): This is one song is just too good! It gives me this overwhelming feeling of joy…. Which can’t be expressed in words! For all those of you haven’t listened to this song…… please do listen to it! Its lovely…… and you’ll feel like picking up a guitar and playing the song…. even if you’re like me and don’t know how to play it!
- My fave lines: “Tune haske mujshe, muskurane ko kaha…. mere man ke mausam gul-muhar se khil gaye”
PEHLA NASHA…….: If you talk of first love and don’t mention this song…. you’ve really lost it or something! The chocolate-boy Amir Khan really looks cute…… and the lyrics are of course, lovely! And the innocence is all too obvious!
- My fave lines: “pehla nasha. pehla ghuma…. Naya pyar hai, naya intezaar”
AGAR MAIN KAHOON……(Lakshya): This is one heck of a cute song! The innocence and immaturity of it all makes it such an endearing song! And imagining Hritik in that cute haircut…. too good! The song also in a way seems to say…. Forget about the old ways of expressing your love, we’re the new gen!
- My fave lines: “Main tumse kahoongi… is baat ko agar tum, zara aur sajake kehte, zara ghuma phirake kehte… to achcha hota”(its really cute… with a capital c!)
So those were my personal choices! Some other worthy mentions are:
