*“I yearn upward, touch you close,

Then stand away, I kiss your cheek,

Catch your soul’s warmth, -I pluck the rose

And love it more than tongue can speak-

Then the good minute goes.”

  - Robert Browning

*Love is a feeling that knocks the doors of our heart, quietly enters and slowly enslaves  you. It is very difficult to express one’s love for the other, But I believe the following songs do just  that with ironic ease. These songs have captured the imagination of thousands over the years and still continue to do so………………………………….

1.Pal pal dil ke pass- Black  mail

Now this song is what I  would call an everlasting melody. The background music is simply superb and it is wonderfully rendered by the evergreen Kishore Kumar. Dharmendra writes a series of letters to Rakhi expressing his fondness explicitly and Rakhi is overjoyed on receiving them. The song is well picturised as well, with Rakhi pondering over her lover’s messages.

*My fave lines: Yeh kaisa ristha hai….yeh kaise sapne hai…

* Begaane hokar bhi……Kyun lagte  apne hai

2. Sagar jaisi ankhon waali- Saagar

Yet another song with Kishoreda crooning his heart out for his beloved. Embellished with  Javed akthar’s lyrics and RD. Burman’s music –this is one song to cherish forever. With the soft strumming of the guitar, the  romantic mood gradually sets in……This  song is featured on the handsome Rishi Kapoor wooing a drop-dead gorgeous Dimple Kapadia .

*My fave lines: Tune deewanaa dil ko banaya….is dil par ilzaam hai kya

*Saagar jaisi ankhon waali…yeh toh batha tera naam hai kya

3.Dil kaa bhawar kare pukar-Tere ghar ke saamne

A light hearted song in which the debonair Dev Anand serenades a coy Nutan.I love this song for it’s novelty factor and also the way it is picturised inside the qutub minar. It has very simple lyrics but still has a profound impact on the psyche

My fave lines: *Phool Tum Gulab Ka Kya Jawaab Aapka

Jo Ada Hai Woh Bahaar Hai*

4.Na tum jaano na hum-Kaho naa pyaar hai

I like this song simply because it has an old world charm as well as the so called ‘feel’ of the current generation. The Rhetoric lyrics further beautify this awesome number. This is easily one of Lucky Ali’s best efforts!

*My fave lines: Kyun milti hai nazar….kyun hotha hai asar

*                           Kyun hothi hai sehar….Na tum jaano na hum

5.Suno naa-Jhankaar beats

Now, it is not at all suprising that this number  has featured in quiet a few reviews so far . Vishal Shekar have done a fabulous job in the album’Jhankaar beats’.Every song has a unique  flavour….however is indeed the best of them all thanks to it’s addictive melody. Shaan too has lent his best efforts and further makes  this song an memorable one.

*My fave lines: Door hokar bhi door tum nahi ho

*                          Pas ho lekin pas kyun nahi ho……

So that is the end of my short review -comments and suggestions for improvement are most welcome!
